I have a very small dining space and wanted something to put a small lamp on in a corner. This looked ideal, and in fact it is ideal for the space. It matches my dining table (light maple in color) and looks great. The height is perfect; the small lamp I put on it softly lights my dining area. I put some small decorative items on the shelves, but it is really too small for books of any size except perhaps paperbacks. I'm not sure about stacking these units as I doubt they would be stable, even though it comes with an extra peg to screw into the bottom shelf. Suggest checking over the package and shelf carefully when received, as the first one I bought was broken although the package didn't seem damaged. This was promptly replaced by Amazon and the second one sent was perfect. It is made of solid wood in a pleasing color and finish. Assembly consists of screwing a peg into the bottom shelf, opening the unit up, then adding the top shelf to the pre-installed pegs in the frame. All holes were placed correctly. I had to tap the top shelf with a rubber mallet to make sure the pegs were seated fully. Once this was done the shelf unit was very solid and stable. These were a breeze to put together. It took me longer to get them out of the box than to set up. They fit in a small space perfectly, but give a lot of shelf space. I have this small space at the end of the hall and with one corner shelf and a planter, it gives me a perfect little eye pop space. They seem sturdy and well made. This is a simple rack without any real assembly being required, you simply need to take the top piece and fit it into the pegs, which is extremely simple. It is not fancy, but simply lovely. I placed my beach decor items upon it, and it fits very nicely in my dining area. I do recommend this rack, it is great for someone who likes to keep things simple. Alright, this corner bookshelf is not bad, but you need both the imagination and patience to set it up. I have had this shelf since last year and it always bugged me to a degree after my first attempt for installing it in my master bedroom. Gaps formed [because of the trim on the walls causing these gaps], nails are absolutely worthless in drywall without anchors, some pieces were loose to a degree (i.e. the metal piece flap to help hold said nails), and the top shelf does not fit in the pre-drilled holes. After having my books fall off multiple of times due to bad installation (and production of the shelf itself), I just recently decided to fix it as a project to complete. First thing I did was removed the prior installation and fitted the corner bookshelf above the bottom wall trim to cut back on the gaps. I did tightened some previous screws on the shelf itself to give it more support (e.g. the right metal flap to insert the given nail for wall installation). Second was to mark the new installation holes, grab some great/sturdy drywall anchors, insert those and then the nails to finally get the sturdy support. I also unscrewed and removed the bottom cylinder piece that supports the shelf as a tripod since now the wall anchors efficiently held the shelf in place. Next I had to line up and hammer (note: I used my fist instead of a hammer, which could've honestly either worked effectively, or caused damage to the top loose shelf) the top shelf to atleast two of three pre-drilled holes to actually get said shelf securely onto the bookshelf. Finally, after purchasing better bookends off of Amazon, placed all my books previously on there to get highly promising results. Overall, now; this corner bookshelf works. The wood is pretty good and when properly installed, it does look great. My plan is to purchase a second one to create a column above this first one [if the time comes to compliment my bibliophile tendencies]. Sucks that I didn't thought about this first-time and wished manufacturer include both drywall anchors for sturdier installations, and they fixed the pre-drilled holes to allow easier connecting on the heavy top shelf. I do recommend this corner shelf, as it works but it does have issues per se. I liked the light wood color and it works for what it is once done properly. Almost gave this a 3 out of 5, but I do like it just enough for this 4. (Also, if you're wondering, those are graphic novels that feature literature stories like different series of Classics Illustrated, Animal Farm, etc..). ... show more

I actually really love this sweet little corner shelf. I did have some initial frustrations with it, however, but fortunately I'm going to make it work. First frustration is that the color I ordered, "Honey Oak," appears much darker in the online photo than it does in person. Meaning, when it arrived I was surprised by how light it was. I would call it an orangish light brown. By happy coincidence it actually matches the wood in our living room area better than I would have expected, so with my first surprise relieved I went on to putting it together... The bookcase will arrive mostly assembled, and even the most basic of dunces will be able to fit the top on and screw on the extra leg and stabilizing screw to make it secure. That is only IF the holes drilled into the top match the pegs that they are supposed to just "pop in" on the bookcase (directions being quoted here). Ours were not aligned, and I was pretty certain that I would have to send it back, but with some squeezing of one side towards the other and forceful maneuvering I was finally able to wedge it on and hammer the top down. I'm not sure how easily it will be to get it off, but as an environmentalist I wanted to make it work since I figured it would get thrown out otherwise, and I wanted to salvage it if I could. It's definitely secure now, as it's wedged on so tightly, but a note to the manufacturer: make sure that your drilled holes are matching up with your pegs before shipment. Last complaint, which is really my fault as I should have measured (duh), but the shelf is much smaller than I realized it would be. At widest it's probably a foot. The small footprint will do nicely as a plant stand or a place for photos, knick-knacks, or necessities that you want to keep near a door (like a dog leash, etc). Don't expect to get a lot of use out of it - this is more for mild/minor function and aesthetic purposes, IMO. All this being said I actually gave it three stars because the wood color just glows, and the craftsmanship is very good (other than the problem that I had with the shelf top, there are no other problems and it seems very secure and balanced). I'm going to keep it and am ultimately happy with the purchase. ... show more

I love it! I absolutely loved that I could put it together in five minutes!!! I have rheumatoid arthritis and handled the box, getting it out and putting it together by myself! It's beautiful too. A little wobbly on carpet, but I weighed it down with my figurines and it's fine now.
