  • Really nice and comfy adventure read
Usually don't write reviews but after reading the Author's afterword in the book about how helpful leaving reviews are to the books success and outreach honestly they deserve it for making this story. If you're a fan of a comfy slow paced adventure fantasy then please check this out. Even though it's a comfy 'slice of life' kind of story there's still good elements of action, tension, and conflict in the story that the protagonist has to traverse through. I was pleasantly surprised with the story's romance elements also at play too so if you enjoy a little romance as well you'll enjoy it in this story. If you're on the fence please give this story a shot, I already ordered the 2nd book and look forward to seeing how this story continues! Thank you to the authors! ... show more

  • Gentle stories about sowing friendships - worth a read
Format: Kindle
First, Don't let the covers fool you - this is not a "harem novel". It is however a simple and enjoyable set of books covering twelve years of the protagonist's life as a farmer. The stories are slow moving for a relaxed pace and casual reading and the stories are simple but enjoyable. The logic of the books is not the greatest, but when you remember that it is taking place in a world run by 'RPG" style rules, it does follow that internal logic as best it can. The "stats" don't really play a role in the story and you can pay attention or ignore them as needed. What the books are really about is emotional growth and the development of friendships and in this, the books shine. The friendships are basic but solid stories and each person in the book has particular quirks that make them unique and play into the plotlines well. As a gentle read during the hot summer days, while sitting with an iced tea (or Hot Coffee and Ice Cream - they ARE good together!) these make for a good choice. ... show more

  • Such a cozy read!
Format: Kindle
The story is well paced and the characters are intriguing. I had a lot of fun with the twists and even though I'm not a fan of romance, I didn't have a problem with the romance in the story. It wasn't overbearing or obnoxious. Plus, the "villains" had some depth to them, personality wise. Very nice!

  • Better than the rest
Format: Kindle
This has been a very satisfying book. I've read quite a few farming LitRPG books recently and this one has been the best. The MC is down to earth and relatable. He's not overpowered and actually struggled quite a bit. What I loved was the story and the interactions between characters. I didn't feel like anything was lacking. I still have questions, but by the end of the book I felt content, happy, satisfied. ... show more

  • Great relaxing read
Format: Kindle
I enjoyed this book. There is enough going on to keep things interesting, but not enough to make things feel more than relaxed as you read. The main character is a stand up guy, and the other characters help build out both the story and the main character. Worth a read in my opinion.

  • Sweet and fun live action RPG from a farmer’s POV
Format: Kindle
I bought this after Beware of Chicken because I wanted more of the same positively flavored, day-to-day farming story. I enjoyed it very much for the easy read and positive interactions all through the story. It’s entirely worth the money for the e-pub and I’ll probably be re-reading it as a comfort/beach read. Four stars because the second half lacked detail and the ending seemed rushed. For all the time lavished on every rebuilding effort of Jason’s, there wasn’t nearly the same detail to the work done when Jason was on his feet and had time to support other people. Rated PG. If you let your kids watch Looney Tunes, then they can read this. There is no sex and only short-take violence, so I would say this book is fine for anyone old enough to comprehend the sentences. However, there is a lot about dating/relationships in here, so I don’t think anyone under the age of 13 will find it all that interesting. ... show more

  • A great slice of life book
Format: Kindle
I was unsure about how compelling a farming book could be, but I have to say that the book is well-paced and a fun read from cover to cover. I read some reviews that questioned some of the RPG genre purchasing mechanics, but I liked the simplicity of purchasing and inventory because it gave the author more time to focus on the story. It was nice seeing Jason navigate farm life and the trials that come with it, and the community was a warm addition to this slice of life story. Definitely worth a read and I’m looking forward to the sequel! ... show more

  • Quick good read
Format: Kindle
The story has good character that are not perfect people. It has a community that embrace and welcome the new person. In a way the community is a place that you would want to live in.
