The headline says it all. It's a great binder, and every kid should own one. This binder has helped my two middle school boys tremendously. It taught them to be organized (and one kid was extremely disorganized). They can keep subjects separate. The binder holds multiple notebooks, folders, dividers, supplies, even some textbooks (the thinner ones, not the huge textbooks we lugged around as kids). My kids literally carry all subjects in this one binder. They no longer have to stop at their lockers in between classes and rush to class. Yes, it does get heavy if you're loading all subjects into this binder, but it is worth it and my kids have never complained. They absolutely love it, and other friends have asked where we get this so they can also get for their kids! It's really great, because it zips shut so nothing falls out, even if you store pencils or markers in it. The binding is very sturdy, and has lasted all year. I do switch it out at the beginning of the new school year and buy a new one. Not because the old one broke, but just because some edges can get frayed, and my kids enjoy starting each year with a fresh clean binder. Please buy this for your kids if they're in middle school. I bought this to help carry my stuff to school. It works really nicely, and was able to fit everything I needed, my issue is that when the rings would close, it ripped the mesh pencil case πŸ˜‘. They did close smoothly though. The color is very bright, so do not expect it to be subtle. The zipper also broke on the second week of me using it. I have searched for over a year for an acceptable binder for my ancestry research. When I first started out on this journey, I purchased 2 – 1” binders and then it became apparent I had to upgrade to a larger binder. By this time, I had a list of binder requirements, being very particular in quality and specs. I ordered 3 – 3” binders from different companies – all 3 were basically the same but, well you know, sometimes you just have to try out the operation of the product. All 3 binders were measured against my specs. In the end this binder was chosen to be the Best one. Unlike many of the other reviews, this binder was not purchased as a one-year school wonder, but rather this binder is a long-term storage for research. The two specifications that were rated A+ and sealed the deal on the purchase - was the color (I wanted an all-black binder). I am living with the red line on the front but actually I am beginning to like it. It fit my all-black specification compared to the other binders. The second specification was – when I open the binder it had to lie FLAT – completely FLAT with no material inside the binder. This binder did. Yahoo! The functionality and quality of the zipper was a nice surprise. The material around the zipper is lightweight and flexible. The zipper fit from top to bottom fits nicely over all the tabs. The surprise was the tabs FIT inside the binder without being squished. The jury is still out on the accordion file section. I do need to make this section work to separate research. I was thinking I could put in manila folders or a pocket folder, but the fit is almost too snug. Yes, I can shave each folder, but not sure how this would look. If only this section was ¼” wider. If I had to indicate a negative of the binder, it would be this. The material on the sides of the accordion section is a crinkle material. The crinkle noise is annoying, and I am not sure just how flexible it is. Perhaps an elastic solution would be better – this would also solve my issue with fitting manila and pocket folders. Bottom Line – I would definitely recommend this binder. I am happy with my purchase. ... show more
