    • Decent Half Helmet -- But Mind Your Use Case

So... I got this "motorcycle" helmet for use with a class 3 electric bicycle. For that use case, this is a solid helmet. It is way better than "bicycle" helmets, which is actually nessecary when riding an electric powered bike that reaches nearly 30mph. I didn't crash to find out, but the eyeball test, if you crash at e-bike speeds, you are better off with this helmet than a normal "bicycle" helmet. It fits as expected. The chin strap is easily adjustable over a wide range of lengths. The inside and straps are what you'd expect of a DOT approved motorbike helmet. This helmet is perfectly good and adaquate for my intended use of it. Would I wear this helmet for my 125cc/50mph equivilent electric scooter or my Yamaha XMax 300 that is freeway capable? Absolutely not. For bikes with that level of power and speed, I have, and you should get a full face helmet with chin bar. But if you are using it on a "more than a bicycle, less than a motorcycle" electric bike, this is a very decent helmet. (And if you are going to ignore advice and wear this on a motorcycle anyway as a "yes, I am wearing a helmet, I complied with the law" sort of thing, then yes, it will work as well as anything else of the sort, I guess.) ... show more
