Background: I had a horrible experience with a crib made by a company called Delta (I bought it at the Navy Exchange). It was a beautiful crib, but it had a powerful varnish smell (VOCs) when I took it out of the box and assembled it. I thought the smell would go away with time and as a grandparent (grandfather) we were not expecting to need the crib for a couple of months - we were just getting ready for when the kids visited or needed a babysitter for a night or two. But it would not go away. I called the company and was told to rub it down with vinegar and warm water. I did it twice, to no effect at all. The bedroom with the crib just reeked, and I was not going to expose my 6-month old grandson to toxic chemicals. So I disassembled the crib and took it to the dump. I started looking for a replacement, and found this crib which advertised that there was no VOCs used in the build process, certified non-toxic. It arrived and absolutely met my highest expectations. I love this crib. Baby has not arrived yet but it looks very steady. Very simple but nice looking. Price is great. Arrived in time. No damaged parts. My husband assembled it In less than 30 min. The biggest plus it does not smell at all. After reading the reviews on some affordable cribs a lot of them smell like chemicals.     • Item defective; cost $31 to return.

The item (mattress) was defective. After we allowed it to inflate for 3 days, there was a huge difference in the mattress height from one side to the other. One side did not inflate at all, so that side was 1/3 the height as the other side. Because it had partially inflated, we could not fit it in the original box and had to purchase a box to return it in. It cost us $31.42 including tax to return a defective item. We were provided with no means of reaching the seller, so our only recourse is to give a negative review. ... show more
