I actually really like the scent of Carroten—it has a tropical, beachy smell that reminds me of tanning lotions, but in a good way. I was initially worried it might have a plasticky chemical scent like someone else mentioned, and I knew what they meant when I first peeled the seal off, but it does not smell like that on. One of the biggest pros for me was how moisturizing it was. My skin tends to be naturally dry, and this product kept it feeling soft and hydrated. I reapplied it about three times throughout the day and used around five teaspoons in total. I spent about four hours outside by the pool, moving between sun and shade, and I did end up getting sunburned. The packaging does note that it doesn't contain SPF, so that’s something to keep in mind. As for whether it made me more tan, it’s hard to say—I might have tanned the same without it—but I did like the texture. The butter gel consistency is a nice middle ground between a lotion and an oil. Lotions usually absorb too quickly for my liking, and oils can be too messy. This was just right. One downside is that it did transfer onto the resort towels and my cover-up. I’m not sure yet if it will stain, but I’m hoping it washes out. Still, that’s not a huge deal to me. Overall, I enjoyed using it and would likely use it again—just with a separate sunscreen for protection.

Carroten is like sunshine in a bottle—if sunshine also made your skin glow like a bronzed goddess in two hours flat. I was honestly skeptical, but this oil-cream hybrid delivered a golden tan and serious hydration without feeling greasy. My skin feels soft, moisturized, and sun-kissed like I just stepped off a beach. Yes, there was a little residue on my towel, but it washed out with zero drama—totally worth it for the glow-up. First time ever using product and I'm pleased to say that I'm very happy with the product. It's very hard for me to get a tan and with this tanning gel that I've only used twice for an hour each, Im starting to build a light tan and hopefully a little darker in the near future. I do burn a little but a day or 2 later with some aloe and moisturizer I'm ready to go for another day out in the sun! BTW a lot of products don't work for me due to my complexion (white very white) and this is the first to ever help build a base tan! Well worth the try and buy!

I used this with a UV of 7 and tanned out on the trampoline for 20 minutes and it got be tan!! It was not a very big difference but IT WAS THE FIRST DAY OF TANNING! I took away 1 star because it might have made me burn. It could have been this or baby oil that made me burn but whatever!!

It doesn't protect you from the sun but if you put a low spf on underneath you still get a really nice tan from this product. It doesn't stain my bikinis even my blue with white edging. But I would still be cautious when putting it on. I tanned really fast with this product. I don't recommend putting it on your face. A little goes a long way, but everyone is different. If you feel yourself burning from being in the sun too long with this on, I suggest you stop and put regular spf on and then put this product on top.

Great product! We love it! HOWEVER..... they aren't honest with it being a full bottle. It is only maybe 1/2 or a 1/3 full. The tub curves and isn't 5 oz. So dishonest with the amount.

My daughter loves this tanning gel. It helps her tan better and her skin looks great. Only downside is it does get on your swim suit. She usually wears an old suit or black when she uses it.
