  • Good tire to replace old bias-ply 5.3-12's
Size: ST145R12 D
Had these mounted on my 4x6' enclosed trailer to replace old bias-ply 5.3-12's. They looks much better and ride nice and smooth. I did have them balanced so not sure how it would be without that, but they pull just fine down the interstate.

  • The few, the proud the 12" ply tire.
Size: ST145R12 E
Needed to replace the 2-year old factory tires on our pop-up that blew out. Amazed to find so few options for 12", ply, E speed-rated tires on the market. Why not use the much more common and durable 13"-sized tires, but that’s a different review. If you own any trailer with small tires, you know they blow-out much more often than normal vehicle tires. I expect about a 2-3-year life on them, depending on the amount of driving. We bought a set of these tires, and used them on a 3,000-mile roundtrip from Texas to California, during the intense summer heat. Tires did great, with no issues. We’re about to do about a 2,000-mile roundtrip from Texas to Colorado, so we will see how they do after a year, and will update. One key detail to note; these tires need to be inflated to 80psi, which many gas-station air pumps cannot pump to. So, you may need to stop by a tire shop (Discount Tire, NTB, Walmart etc.) to have them properly inflated. Without proper inflation, you risk premature blow-out. ... show more

  • best trailer tire so far
Size: ST145R12 E
Have ordered several china tires on here, all failed after a few hundred miles. These Carlisle tires did great on an 800 mile trip, no viable wear and performed well under extreme heat conditions.

  • Stout, well made tires
Size: ST145R12 D
Got a pair of these Carlisles to replace the cheap B rated HF tires on my boat trailer (total weight 900 lbs). I make long trips pretty often, driving 75, even 80 in hot weather for hours at a time. I got tired of constantly buying new- sometimes mid- journey. The 4.80-12 HF treads wear smooth in about 2000 miles. I just removed the cheap tires from the wheels, and its a miracle I did not have a blowout they are so thin. These D rated Carlisles are way thicker everywhere. Mounting them I was impressed how stout they are - 2 ply glass and 2 ply steel on the tread, with 2 ply glass on the sidewall. The bead is very substantial with ribs where it contacts the rim to accommodate surface rust I suppose. They arrived loose in a large box so they were not deformed and they were manufactured one month ago. I will try to remember to edit after I get a few hundred miles on them to report on tread wear. Oct, 2018 update. About 2000 miles on the tires, mostly high speed, and no visible wear. Very pleased with these tires. ... show more
