    • These shirts are very comfortable, but the sizes run very large in the big guy sizes.
I was a 6X going to a 5X. The 5X was way to big. Then got a 4x which was also to big. Finally got a 3x and that fit just right. This is compared to other brands though.

As expected from Carhartt this is a well made heavy shirt. They definitely fun big compared to modern shirts which seem to be cut very small to fit tighter. These are old school sizes so order as needed. They do shrink up a bit in the hot dryer but they have extra size to do it. I got these primarily for working around the house and whatever else... they are a solid choice as a work or casual T-shirt. ... show more

Like most everyone else, I have purchased hundreds of t-shirts from different manufacturers over the years made from a variety of materials and cotton blends. In a "big" size, especially, they are often cut and designed oddly...the sleeves too short...the neck too large and the fit unflattering. Then when you wash them, the "odd" features are magnified. Try to fold them after washing and none of the seems line up. They are often twisted and distorted and some just turn into rags. The design, style, fit and durability of the Carhartt shirt is unequaled. They fit well, look good and launder well. The neckline is right and the sleeves are to the elbow.     • Heavy Duty T-shirts!
I wear T-shirts while working in the garage and barn, on my tractor and cars, and am constantly snagging and ripping them, getting them covered with paint and burning holes in them with battery acid. My shirts take a beating, and don't last very long. So far these appear to be much heavier/durable fabric than any other T-shirt I've ever owned. They should hold up well, although for now I'm trying to be somewhat gentle on them as they are "nice" compared to my others. After trying one, I bought several more. Bought two of these, the black one fits as expected and is comfortable. The blue one seems to be short though and is visibly not as long as the black one. Both of them wear well and are comfortable, however, the size is NOT the same despite them being listed as such. 5 stars for the black one, 4 to the blue one due to the shortness issue. **edit to add I just purchased 2 grey ones, we will have to see if they too become shorter than the black ones after washing and wearing. ** ... show more
