  • Great pants for home and work!
I started by ordering a medium, usually a safe bet for me with leggings. When they arrived it said on the tag that medium is 8/10, so I knew immediately they’d be too big. I exchanged for a small tall (4/6) and they fit wonderfully. I love the way they feel, the pockets, the reinforced knees, the stretch is great for yoga and they’re tough enough to wear at my job working in a barn with hay and tons of dirt. The material is tough enough and they place the pockets just right to make them not look like you’re wearing yoga pants at work. My only complaint is the Carhartt logo should be in a different spot, it just looks like a sticker is in your butt at first, it’d be nice if they adjusted the placement to near the waistband instead. But ladies, these are both yoga pants with pockets and real work pants you can finally be comfortable in! ... show more

  • Good material
Size: X-Large Color: Black
I was actually impressed with how durable the material feels, it's thick but not too thick to be stiff. It's also soft enough and stretchy for bending at the waist and the knees. I ordered the XL in black, and it looks great, and fits amazing. It is not see through at all, like this is an actual work pant/legging and is definitely worth the price. ... show more

  • Perfect for outdoor adventure
I LOVE these britches. They’re perfect for hiking, riding horses, riding 4wheelers, any sort of outdoor work or activity. I have worn them muddling 3x and gone through major mud holes and water where I expected to be freezing and feel wet. Water seemed to roll off of them well. They’re not 100% water proof of course, but a decent water resistant, durable pant. I love the pockets! There are several! I love that even in 40degree weather riding in water and mud I didn’t feel wet or cold for majority of the ride. They are a sturdy, durable material that briars and limbs didn’t seem to penetrate in any major way. When I did catch a briar, it didn’t scratch my skin; only caught the pants and then was gone. There have been no snags or holes thus far either. I’ve also shook the dry mud off and thrown them back on for a later ride and they were already dry. I love them. The one thing I am glad I read prior to purchasing is many said they were big on them. I’m a size 6 and 38 inch hips. I ordered a small. They are comfy in my waist all day long, but they can take a little tugging to get over my hips. If I had ordered a medium theyd have been way too big in the waist, as well as in the thighs and calves. Even though I ordered a small thinking they’d fit snugly like a legging, they are still a little roomier in the legs than I’d prefer. I wear socks over the ankle and up my calf and boots and I hate having to fold, tuck, twist my pants into my sock and boot. I prob could have gotten an XS for that type of fit I wanted, but might need an extra set of hands to get them over these hips. Lol I will he ordering another pair and trying out the XS soon just to see. Small is a Great fit for girls with more junk in their trunk and bigger quads and calves than I but similar waist and hip circumference! ... show more

  • Nice pants, narrow waist Nice pants, narrow waist
I ordered these pants to wear while motorcycle riding. The chart said I should be a size Medium but I ordered large because I don’t like when things are tight on me. I’m glad I did because the waist is so narrow I had a hard time getting them over my rear. But once they were on they fit fine and not too tight around my waist. They seem pretty durable and they were comfortable to wear while riding. ... show more

  • Good product but hard to get over wide hips
Size: Medium Tall Color: Black
The pants are well constructed and heavy duty. However for someone with wide hips, it was extremely hard to get in them, then they're a bit loose on top (I don't think they'd ride down) it's not feasible to get into them so I'm returning, but if you don't have wide hips, I think these would work great for any rugged work or even hiking etc. ... show more

  • My favorite work trousers
I work outside in an environment that can be very hot or very cold, is always dusty, and has a lot of snaggy, sharp things that can destroy a pair of work pants. The original pair I bought over three years ago show very few signs of wear, so I ordered the natty purple leggings to expand my wardrobe. The fabric sheds the sandy dirt that I spend a lot of time in. It keeps my legs cool on very hot days. Slim cut legs don't get snagged on brush, and keep weed seeds from my socks. There are lots of pockets for all of the junk I carry: phone fits on the side of the legs, sample vials in the front pockets, handkerchief and gloves in back. The only complaint I have is that even with a mid-rise cut, the pants tend to creep down and expose more butt crack than necessary. The elastic waistband is broad and comfortable (no rollies!), but isn't quite up to the task of keeping everything in place. (There are no belt loops.) This, however, is a small price to pay for the comfort and utility of these leggings. ... show more

  • Mismatched pocket most noticeable in Black
Size: X-Large Tall Color: Black
I HATE the mismatched patch pockets! I know the idea to make the patch pockets out of a different colored material were a design choice... but it's a BAD one IMO. They might be cute on a skinny-mini, but on larger full-sized adults, the darker patch pockets draw the eye to my wider backside and hips... which I don't need in skintight leggings. Thankfully the odd patch pockets are not as noticeable in the other colors. I purchased the Black, Navy, and Coffee Brown. On the Black... the slightly darker patch pockets are most noticeable and just look weird... subtle enough in broad daylight to look like a mistake. According to the listing images, the Coffee Brown & Navy also used darker fabric for the patch pockets, but in real life it's either not the case or they are less noticeable. I wanted Black. And the truth is I don't really like either of the alternate colors and debating which to keep, if either. The Coffee Brown is not quite olive drab, and not quite dark brown. In between the two is an unflattering color. If it were more olive or darker it would be better. The Navy Blue is a little too vibrant and not dark enough. Would be better if it was more Marine Blue (greener tone) or darker Navy Blue (closer to black). It's frustrating because colors-aside, these are great pants! I'm 5'11 and wear 12/14... more 14 right now. The XL Tall are perfect. The legs are long enough for my 32" inseam. The rise is tall enough to not slide down when I bend over or sit. The front pockets are deep enough to actually put hands in. I can carry a pair of gloves in the back. My phone fits in the side tool pocket on the side. They're thick and sturdy enough for between-season yard work, winter hiking, and horseback riding. Dear Carhartt—please make a black pair using the same material for the legs and pockets. ... show more

  • The perfect combo of comfort and durability!!
I have had these for a few months now and anytime I do outside work on the garden, mowing the lawn, or building projects, these are the pants I wear. PROS: the material is thick. That was the first thing I noticed when taking them out of the package. There is no chance of getting a hole in these. The pockets are a huge plus. The two front pockets are actually usable and so are the back pockets. I never worry about anything falling out of them and I will often store my pencil, screws, phone, and even my smaller measuring tape. Then you have two additional pockets on the right leg that are also great. Cons: the sizing is definitely big in my opinion. I wear a large in every pair of pants I have. In jeans I typically wear a 10-12 depending on sizing. From all the reviews I saw, people said they were small. These are a little big. I can wear them but they definitely need to be tighter I’m not docking a star though because overall I can still wear them and now that I know my right size, I’ll just get more. ... show more
