There really isn't much to say about Carhartt when you try it on it speaks for itself. MADE IN USA. Everything is of an incredible high quality. All the way down to the sticker in the pocket of which worker personally inspected your jacket (Cathy in my case). The jacket is so warm and fits great. The sizes run big so if you prefer a bigger jacket then buy your regular size but if you like something that is more fitted then buy a size down. I constantly get compliments on what a nice jacket it is, and I'll get compliments for a long time because it was built to last. I don't think I've ever been happier with a jacket I've bought. Carhartt rocks and so does amazon for offering such a great price on it. I bought this for my husband and he loves it. At first I bought the XL for him. According to Carhartt size chart he should be a 2XL (he has a 50" chest), but with all the reviews saying it runs big I got him the XL. It was swimming on him. I returned it and exchanged it for the Medium size, it fits absolutely perfect and he is very pleased. He had been asking for this for a while and he isn't disappointed! Wonderful jacket, very durable outer fabric with super comfy and warm inner lining fabric. There are two pockets inside, one is zippered and one is velcro. Both inner pockets are a decent size however the outer pockets seemed to just fit his hands. The zipper is very stiff and heavy duty, I'm sure it will loosen up a bit with time. Like everything else, takes a bit of wear to break it in. All in all, super happy with this purchase and would definitely buy again. ... show more

Cheapest price I’ve found for these this year. My fiancé was in need of a new coat and mentioned carhartt to me, I searched for a couple months. Finally got this and it came so fast and is perfect. Definitely a little big for a medium but most carhartt loose-fit items do run a little bigger, I’d recommend small if you normally wear a medium in shirts and want a tighter fit. He says it’s perfect however, great for wearing layers underneath and very warm! ... show more

I bought this jacket when i had to go to Colorado for a job outdoors. it held up against the wind and cold there amazingly. After returning to dallas, we were having a lot of freezes and I was doing security for night clubs as a Doorman, it again worked like a charm. One club had me check ID's inside where the hosts stand so i was able to hang my jacket up, well a unknown person who was intoxicated i guess decided my jacket was his when he was leaving and pick it up off the coat rack when I was dealing with some drunk females who decided they were mortal kombat characters swinging on each other. I have had the jacket for a couple days now and thought I would start an initial review and then come back a bit later for some follow up reviews. So my initial thoughts and comments: To be truthful I never look at sizing charts. Normally I wear a medium so I went with a medium. It fits pretty well, might be a bit big for "normal" mediums but I am by no means displeased with the fit. In fact it is really comfortable. It hasn’t rained yet but I did purposefully spill some water on the sleeve with no water seeping through to me. Where I am is extremely windy and the hoodie just blocks it all out which is a huge plus for me. The zipper is annoying. It has to be lined up perfectly in order to zip. I thought that might be just me so I did a blind study on my girlfriend and had her try on the jacket and the first thing she said was the zipper is annoying. Beyond that she wishes I had gotten her one too. I haven’t made up my mind about the hood. It’s comfortable and fits nice but it’s a bit bulky when not worn but this might be to the jacket being a bit big in general 1 week pros: Warm (have only tested it 55F/12C with significant wind) Blocks all wind Water protection Very Comfy On the fence: The hood Cons: Zipper A little stiff but that is passing each day I wear it I will probably have to buy another one for my girlfriend her shortly ... show more

    • Rugged, durable, comfortable; what more could you ask for?

So Carhartt can be a beat pricey, but honestly their products are worth every penny. I wanted a winter jacket that I could do some work on cars with and not worry about damaging the jacket but still stay warm in the barn where I work. This jacket does everything I could want and more. The outside is durable and won't tear or stain easily. The inside is like being wrapped up in your own personal quilt. The zippers and stitching are tough and strong. Not only is this jacket built to last, it's built to keep you warm no matter the conditions. Spent some time out doing work in sub-zero weather and stayed perfectly warm. Not even harsh strong winds get through this thing. It baffles me how it can keep me so warm in conditions like that but won't let me overheat if I wear the jacket indoors for an extended period of time. Finally, this jacket is super comfortable. Fallen asleep with it on a few nights and slept like a baby. Rough and rugged on the outside, comfortable, warm and cozy on the inside; what more could you want out of a jacket? FYI it fits a little big. I generally wear a size LARGE tshirt and got this in a MEDIUM. The fit is spot on for me. ... show more

I'm 6'2 205lbs Pictures are for medium Bought L tall Covered half my butt but had a big puff in the front Bought Med Tall Covered half my butt but seems too tall for my comfort (might be better for those into that look of long jacket) Bought Med Fits right below the belt, covered my upper body well to hold in heat but cuffs were short Large End result of my search for perfect fit Large stomach, puffy look but fits at waist level and cuffs. Still holds in heat (reason why I went with this jacket) Use: I ride my road glide with a sweater under at 40 degrees, ride is cold but not dying Needs to be broken in with time. Give it 3 washes and there you go. A comfortable jacket. Good luck guys and hopefully you don't go through 3 orders before you get the one you want ... show more

I wanted to buy this jacket in order to replace my tired $120 North Face Bionic Jacket. So as to not look like yet another Bay Area drone, I decided to go with this Carhartt. After wearing this bad boy for 2 months, here's my 2-cent on this. PROS: - Made in USA. A big plus, if you ask me: not everyone can do banking or IT engineering. Good manufacturing jobs is essential. Carhartt does this. - Very sturdy, yet very nice looking, sort of urban revival of the bomber type jacket. I think it looks fantastic. - Comfortable and warm: blocks the wind easily, and then some. CONS: - It's *WARM*. And that makes it a bit uncomfortable anytime I get indoors, say in the train, at work or whatever. This jacket is made with some Wisconsin-type winter in mind, not the local watered-down kind (i.e. 40F). - It's NOT a replacement for a The North Face jacket, which is mostly a glorified, overpriced glazed piece of imported nylon designed to act as a windstopper. Overall, though, I am hugely satisfied with this jacket. I love it, it looks good and will (obviously) keep me warm during our wild winter "storms". ... show more
