This heavyweight, hooded sweatshirt has a zip front for fast layering. It's made of 13-ounce, 80-percent cotton / 20-percent polyester fabric and has a rain defender durable water-repellent finish. It is designed with spandex- reinforced rib-knit cuffs and waistband to keep the cold out. There's an attached three-piece jersey-lined hood with draw cord, front hand-warmer pockets, and an antique-brass front zipper. The carat logo is embroidered on the front left pocket. This zip up hoodie is a nice and heavy and very warm. It’s comfortable and easy to move in. It is very oversized though. I am 5’10” 205lbs and normally get sweatshirts in an XL, as I like some extra space, but the XL was way too big in the sleeves and the waist. I exchanged and sized down to a L and the fit is great. I returned the one I got..I normally like oversized hoodies, this was very comfortable and warm..quality carhartt as always! This was oversized in a way I've never experienced before.. when i put my hands in the pockets and bring them together to make the waistband snug around my body, I get about a 10" overlap, have never had a hoodie that the waistband was that big.. I recently bought a hoodie that was a 3x and it was almost too tight ..I wish there was an industry standard .. also wish they listed the waistband size, they just have chest measurements. I plan on getting this hoodie, but will go down a size or 2.. even the hood was waaay big, like "I'm going to catch every ounce of wind coming this way" big. ... show more

I’ve had this for about a year now. It is very thick and warm and I have no complaints about the actual zip up except two things. First off, the color looks dark green in person. And my only major complaint is that it has a distinct gross smell. Doesn’t matter how many times I’ve washed it, it hasn’t lost the original smell since I bought it. True to size. Loose fit is great for people who work for a living. Warm and seems to be rain resistant. Perfect weight to warmth ratio. Wearing with a hoodie underneath is good for the mid to upper 30sF. Appears to have a nylon zipper, but it's heavy duty.
