Water repellent, wind resistant, and lined with 3M™ Thinsulate™ insulation for lightweight warmth. A relaxed fit lets you move easily on the job or in the woods. 7.75-ounce, 100% Super Dux nylon. Quilted lining for easy on and off; 100g 3M™ Thinsulate™ insulation for warmth without the weight. Rain Defender® durable water repellent (DWR) keeps you dry and moving in light rain. Wind Fighter® technology tames the wind. Carhartt strong triple-stitched main seams. Relaxed fit. Full front zip with kissing-welt construction for weather protection; Adjustable hood with chin guard and hidden drawstrings. Internal rib-knit storm cuffs help keep out the cold. I’m 5’8” and 185 and the medium fits just right. Also tried the large but was swimming in it even with a long sleeve hoodie and Antigua vest underneath for layering so kept the medium instead. Wore it this past week in 40-50 F, rainy weather. The coat is warm without it feeling overly heavy or bulky. Might not even need to layer at all given the insulation. Also able to wear it comfortably while driving and still have good range of motion. A bit tight in arm holes while wearing a thick hoodie under it, but able to wear a casual v-neck sweater and polo under it just fine while driving to work. Got the greige - a good neutral color that was $50 cheaper than the black or coffee brown. Glad I got a great deal on such now a comfortable Carhartt coat. ... show more

    • Very warm considering how light weight it feels.

The good: Love the material, seems very durable. The hood cinches up well and jacket zippers up to your nose. Large pockets on front for carrying whatever. The not so good: Front hand pockets not really for keeping your hands warm, small and not well insulated. More for holding a pair of gloves I guess. Here’s the big problem. There’s no adjusting the bottom of the jacket to fit close around your waist. I realize there are side zippers that can be used when sitting, but there still should be a way to adjust it, maybe with a flap and a series of snaps. As it is you’re vulnerable to a cold air blast coming up from the bottom on a windy day. I haven’t decided if I’ll keep it or not. Next few days here in Minneapolis will be near zero deg F. That will decide for me. ... show more

Ordered this jacket to use at work. I am a medium so this is what I ordered. When I receive the jacket they accidentally shipped a small. Worked out because it fit perfect. All the reviews said this runs big to order a size down. Glad they sent a small

Overall very nice, but the hood has a hard "visor" that works great with the hood up, but bumps the back of your head when the hood is down. Sleeves seem a bit short, but not too bad.

I've always purchased Carhartt coats which have been warm and durable. Now that I am getting older, I notice the weight of these coats on my shoulders. I purchased this one and it is wonderful.
