Description

The heavyweight champion of sweatshirts is made of 13-ounce, 75% cotton/25% polyester fabric and has a Rain Defender durable water-repellent finish. The zip-mock collar has an 8-inch antique-finish brass zipper. It is designed with spandex-reinforced rib-knit cuffs and waistband to keep the cold out. There's an attached three-piece jersey-lined hood with draw cord and front hand-warmer pocket. The Carhartt logo is embroidered on the front left pocket.

I have several colors already, and hope they make a chocolate brown version, soon. The material is thick and very water-resistant. The quarter-zip, mock turtle neck collar really seals out the wind and provides dual protection for the neck and lower face. while the hood is just large enough to completely cover a baseball cap, as a hood should be. (Some people think that a knit cap is the preferred companion for a hood, but a wool baseball cap provides adequate insulation, and increased water protection, while also forcing the hood to turn with your head, so that you can look over your shoulder. Combine that with a micro fiber balaclava under the cap and you're golden.) While warm and heavy, the body of this hoodie isn't bulky, so can easily fit under any coat and most jackets, but I don't need one that often, with this. A full sleeve compression undershirt plus this hoodie is good down to 40 degrees, at which point I just add the aforementioned balaclava and a good pair of gloves. I had purchased one of these 5 years ago and it finally gave out (the bottom sleeve cuffs frayed, lost water repellency, and faded). This is a replacement that I needed to buy but the work wear stores did not have any stock as they're very popular. Works great in the rain and I don't have to layer much to stay warm. Another excellently designed and constructed garment by Carhartt. A little on the long side but I can live with that. At 5' 10" 155 pounds I was afraid it would be too loose but not at all. Fits well whether worn over a ploy long sleeve shirt or over that with a fleece zip top shirt and insulated bibs. Great collar/neck design although it could be a little taller. I've bought several of these and still wear them all. They fit well, they are a durable, thick and comfortable material. This hoodie is my go to for work or whatever. I am outside for work in all elements and this hoodie blocks wind well and keeps me warm. I'm 6'2" and the lg tall fits awesome.

I love this sweatshirt! My boyfriend had gotten one that I borrowed one day and had to get myself one. It is comfortable, soft, warm, & just an overall great sweatshirt to toss on.
