They’ve been my uniform for years—durable, forgiving in the thighs, and just stretchy enough to survive a dropped tailgate or a busted hand truck wheel without taking me down with them. But then life hit me with something unexpected: a funeral. Not even for family—just a neighbor or coworker level event—but I realized I no longer owned “dress pants.” Like, none. Not a single pair. I checked the closet and it was all cargo shorts, work pants, and a pair of jeans that haven't fit right since my son was born. So I did what any burnt-out working dad would do: I bought the exact same Carhartt pants I trust with my life, but in khaki, because apparently that’s the minimum requirement for looking “put together” in public. Let me tell you, these things are exactly what I needed: Still rugged enough to unload a truck Still flexible enough to crouch in a walk-in cooler But in a color that says “Yes, I’ll sit near the front at Applebee’s tonight” I slapped on a clean polo, tucked it in, and suddenly I was the most overdressed guy at the funeral buffet table—short of the pastor. My wife said I looked decent. My kid didn’t recognize me. And I only adjusted myself like, twice. Honestly? If Carhartt makes them in olive, I might just round out the collection. These are my “respectable public appearance” pants now—whether it’s a funeral, a PTO meeting, or date night where I swear I won’t talk about inventory shrinkage. These are great pants. Light weight but enough for work. Summer will be great. They do shrink 1 full size in length and in waist! They sit just below waist so you won't have sagging pants. Pockets are perfect and deep. Leg pocket does fit phone and has a upper inner overhang to enclose phones or small items.

I have bought 4 or 5 pair of these pants for my husband and son. My son uses them for his tree trimming job. And my husband wanted to try them because my son loves these pants. They must be comfortable both guys love them and the thickness is just right to withstand getting stuck by tree branches and thorns. Carhart is our go to brand for sweatshirts and pants. Well worth the extra money.

My husband loves these pants and says he would've given them a 5, except for the missing belt loops. It's not a mistake that they're not there either as he's gotten many pairs and they're all the same. Missing the front loops means he can't wear a belt unless I sew some on as a work-around. Super inconvenient, but he loves them otherwise so I do it. As far as the fit and so-forth, they're great, sturdy and look good too. They, unfortunately, don't come in a 42x36. 34" is as long as they get, but since he can't use a belt, they hang lower! smh
