I have a Kohler Command CV14S engine that I've put a few knock off carbs on and this is the first one that was correct right out of the box. Other carbs have oversized throttle arms that hit the cylinder head causing the throttle to bind, this one didn't need that modification. Also the choke on this one is a solid plate, rather than the Swiss cheese chokes found on most other carbs. The solid choke plate makes for a much faster start, and the plate is on a spring so it pulls open after the engine starts so it doesn't foul the plug of stall the engine. This carb is a much cheaper alternative than a true Kohler part. However, there are no instructions on adjustment so you have to play with the adjustment screw. Also, I noticed some reviewers had to grind part of the throttle mechanism where the rod goes through and I had to do the same to get clearance so the governor rod would operate correctly on my JD LT155 with Kohler CV15S engine. After doing that, the carb works just like the original.

This carburetor was dimensionally correct but the throttle lever was bent which could have happened during shipping but it was hitting the engine block and causing the throttle to not open. When I fixed it that I could hardly keep the tractor running. I took the carburetor apart and found the seat for the main needle was only inserted about a quarter of the way in. I took the carburetor apart and took the parts I needed and put them in the old carburetor and it works fine. I guess that's what you get for a $15 carburetor

Identical to the original carburetor for a Snapper 15 hp rear engine. The base gasket was cracked and there was no bushing in the throttle linkage hole but I had parts on hand to fix.

Other than being broken on arrival, seems to be ok. Plastic piece on top is missing a tab-like portion where the linkage would connect. No chance it was broken in transit, as the missing piece is not in the box and the box was very securely taped up. (One of the best tape-jobs I've seen actually) Awaiting replacement from the seller. UPDATE....increased rating from 1 star up to 3 stars Replacement eventually arrived and appeared to be in good shape with no obvious flaws. However by that point I had already stripped the first one to rebuild the one from the mower. Intended to spend $20 and save the time and hassle of rebuilding, but instead spent the time of rebuilding AND extra time trying to get the issue resolved. Seems like a good product and a good company, maybe I was an anomaly. I would say that the product is NOT a direct replacement for my Craftsman Kohler Command 15.5hp CV15S/model 917.256552. The original carburetor has two adjustment screws as well as a threaded hole to screw in the ground wire for the fuel shut off solenoid. This carburetor only has one adjustment screw and nowhere to attach the ground wire. Also, the seat for the needle valve can not be (easily) removed, so don't plan on using this to do a full rebuild. My "rebuild" made the engine run better than it had so I'm satisfied enough for now. The throttle and governor linkages are slightly different too, so save all the parts from the old assembly. Came with two gaskets.
