  • Hard to master
Color: Grey
I’m going to give it a 4 star just because I don’t understand why it doesn’t feel right, the quality and the cue is great. But I do much better with other cues I’ve played with. I’m not sure if it’s the shape of the cork or if it’s just taking time to get used to it.

  • Great step up from a house cue — straight, balanced, and solid Great step up from a house cue — straight, balanced, and solid
Color: Blue
I played quite a bit of pool when I was younger, but I would not consider myself an expert on all of the modern cue options and technical details. I mainly wanted something better than a typical house cue, and the carbon fiber shaft had me intrigued. So far, I’m very happy with it. The cue seems well made, straight, and nicely balanced. It assembles easily, and the connection feels solid with no looseness or rattle that I can feel. On impact, it gives a clean, solid contact with the ball, which makes it feel much better than using a random house cue. The carbon fiber shaft feels great during the stroke. It is smooth, comfortable, and seems to need very little chalk compared to what I expected. The blue finish also looks sharp in person, and the included case and accessories make it feel like a complete setup. For someone getting back into playing, or for a casual/recreational player who wants their own cue instead of relying on house cues, I think this is a very nice option. I have not had it long enough to speak to long-term durability, but my first impression is very positive. It feels straight, balanced, solid, and enjoyable to play with. ... show more

  • One of my new favorite cue sticks.
Color: Burgundy
I bought this cue for my own use, and as someone who has played pool for years, I’m very happy with it. It has a smooth feel, a solid balance, and a confidence-inspiring hit that makes it easy to enjoy from the first shot. What really stands out to me is how comfortable it is in play. The cue feels natural in my hands, responds well, and has quickly become one of my favorites to bring along when I travel. I also appreciate that it feels dependable without being overly flashy. It gives me the kind of control and consistency I want, and overall, it has been a very satisfying addition to my game. ... show more

  • P-H-E=N-O-M-E-N-A-L!!! P-H-E=N-O-M-E-N-A-L!!!
Color: Burgundy
I would preface this by stating that I'm just an average player, not a pro, by any measure. However, I've been playing pool for more than 5 decades, and have collected cues for the past 30 years. I've played lots of them, and they definitely differ, one from another. This is a full carbon fiber cue, and as a means of comparison I have five others, from various brands. They range in price up to many hundreds of dollars (though not thousands) each. This Rayspeed cue is simply outstanding. It plays better than anything I own, regardless of cost. It's very nicely made, and with the exception of one small factor I can say it's a spectacular value. More on that in a moment. The cue is available in a variety of colors (butt section, of course), all coming with the plain "naked" carbon fiber shaft. I chose the brownish-red grip, and it's beautiful looking, very much like mahogany. There is a Rayspeed logo on the butt section, but it's suprisingly understated, and subdued. I really appreciate that. Though I thought I prefered a wood grip with Irish linen wrap, I now realize I love the feel of this one. I have several others that are just a sort of glossy finish, but this one actually feels amazing in the hand. The joint has a plastic ferrule (a first for me), and an Uni-Lock style quick connection. The fit is excellent, and this is where the one issue I found came in. If you run you fingers up and down the cue, over the joint, it's not quite flush. It's not off by a lot, but I can feel that it hasn't been turned to the point where it's indistinguishable from the rest of the cue. It's certainly no big thing, but I did notice it. I will admit that this is the first time I played a plastic/resin ferrule, and it was great. But there's so much more to this cue. It's got a high-quality, laminated leather tip which plays incredibly well. The tip diameter is 12.5mm, and you get a spare tip (14mm) in the kit. There's also another shock: You get an high-quality hard carry case, with shoulder strap, and a large zippered pocket. It's really a nice case, and is embroidered with the Rayspeed logo. In the pocket you'll find the spare leather tip, a black billiard glove (closed finger tips; can be used right or left handed), along with a very high-quality carbon fiber butt extension. This is a beautifully made piece, and screws right into the butt section, using a bullet joint. I was so impressed playing this cue. I actually spent 2 hours with it, simply pocketing balls. It was a pleasure to play, and I can say that it outplayed other cues costing 3 times the price. Honestly, this is now the finest shooting cue I own. It's an awesome value, and frankly it's difficult to comprehend how this deal is possible. Treat yourself to this one. It's a fantastic deal. ... show more
