Installed on my Troy Bilt Pony, 17.5 hp Briggs & Stratton Intek. Purchased a different carb first that was like my factory one, didn’t work, so I bought this one. The problem with the Briggs Intek motors are the fuel cut off solenoid, terrible design. You can get just the solenoid, but I wanted a whole new carburetor, and for the price it’s worth it. I chose this one because it does not have a fuel cut off solenoid. I installed a fuel cutoff switch on the fuel line anyway for when not in use. Worked great and fired right up, and ran strong the whole time. This WILL work if you have a Walbro 4993 carb. Fitment is fine, and ditch that stupid fuel solenoid! ... show more

    • New carburetor vs rebuild kit
Product is a much better value than a rebuild kit. It was an exact fit & MUCH lower coat than an OEM carburetor from a dealer. One hint to share is that carburetor is NOT pre adjusted. Both adjustment screws need to be adjusted to factory specifications before it will function. Once adjustments are set, it performs as expected. ... show more

Literally pulled it out of the box and installed it to my B &S I/C 16 HP. It ran smoothly with little adjustments to the idle screws on the top. It brought my dad's Poulan Pro 46inch cut mower back to life! Good quality carb, no burs sticking out from manufacturing process. Good quality carb. All accessories are good quality! I used the fuel cut off selector all clamps were good quality and also the fuel line. I will come back and update after a month of mowing. ... show more

    • Required some modification, but was the carb I was looking for. Incredibly inexpensive.
The carb looked perfect, all the linkages were the same. Oddly enough, the idle mixture screw had NO slot for a screwdriver blade, so I had to grind in a slot with a dremel. Next, the throttle plate was binding, I finally had to remove the plate and put the throttle plate from the old carb. Then the throttle worked smoothly without binding. Then when I got the carb in place, it was slightly longer than the old carb, so the original mounting bolts didn't have enough threads to allow attachment of the air cleaner assembly. So I had to used different bolts, which I had, but then the installation was difficult, whereas the original bolts made for an easy installation. And then the float bowl inlet was straight, and should have been right-angled. I had to install longer fuel line to attach the line. In the end the mower runs good now. So a great value, but a pain to resolve the issues. Three stars for hassles, fives stars for value. ... show more

    • Just what the mechanic ordered
My Snapper lawn mower w/a Briggs and Stratton engine is 12 years old so I couldn't find any carbs that matched the engine model I have. So, after studying the vendor supplied pictures, I determined that this carb was as close to the OEM part as I was going to find. It fit perfectly to the Briggs and Stratton (Intek) 12.5 HP (344cc) engine. The throttle and choke linkage attachment points were exact. Started on the second pull and runs perfectly w/o any adjustments. My only complaint is that the two filters included with the carb have slightly smaller nipples than what is needed for the fuel hose, so they're unusable.
