The material cuts easily with a sharp utility blade with an easy to peel paper backing. We found that cutting through the paper backing made a cleaner cut on the metallic side. Installation was easy with two people working together to keep things aligned as the paper backing is gradually removed and the (very) sticky back is applied to the wall. The adhesive appears to be excellent … time will tell. We sealed all seams between sheets with 3M high temperature aluminum ducting tape and were very satisfied with the appearance and fit. Installed on the underside of my wife's VW Taos. The engine noise was pretty noticeable off the dealer lot, and this was the first aftermarket purchase I made. It doesn't make the cab "quiet" by any means, but it definitely helped reduce engine noise by a few decibels. Overall, worth the purchase. I used this one my inboard engine compartment- the material was easy to work with. The glue is very sticky- 2 weeks later the glue is holding up and the compartment is a little quieter.
