Car charger adapter is short enough to kind of disappear in the socket. It also connects more solid with metal detente balls. Since I am using it on a motorcycle, a solid connection ins paramount. At this point I have not had the connector long enough to tell if it is as durable as I expect it to be. If it is, I will be ordering at least two more. I’ve only had this a day and there are 2 specific problems. 1) both ports are a standard USB size. While my iPhone was listed in compatibility the new chargers cords don’t fit. No real problem. Just had to find one of my old cords. 2) when it says flush mount it is true! Fantastic if you never have to take it out, but good luck if you ever need to switch it out or have other accessories that need that power source. Definitely something to consider. I put this in and can’t get it back out there is literally nothing to grab onto to pull it back out. Otherwise it seems to be solidly made. Just thought I share a heads up. Could be perfect if you know you will never have to remove it and it lasts as long as your car.
