Description

The Jr. Tyette tap shoe from Capezio features a thick, low heel, a soft microfiber linings, and a padded collar for extra comfort and support. A grosgrain ribbon ties on the center front, and a rubber sole patch helps to steady your every move. Salvatore Capezio was born in 1871 in Muro Lucano, Italy. Uninterested in following in his father's footsteps as a construction engineer, he became an artist of his own right, a cobbler. In 1887, at the age of 17, he opened his shop on Broadway and 39th Street, diagonally across from the old Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. Soon, the shop became a meeting place for dancers who would stop by to discuss their needs and to get a pair of his shoes. As Capezio's popularity grew, dancers from around the world made it a point to visit him and purchase his shoes. The innovation of the products that Salvatore Capezio created and the camaraderie he shared with the dancers molded the direction that his company would follow. In this image, the Capezio brand was established to promote and recognize ongoing achievements and participation in dance. Capezio products remain in the forefront in quality and in technological advances with innovations like the split-sole, the stretch-insert, the Dansneaker and the Tapsneaker. Capezio believes that their success is dependent upon the individual commitment of each customer to continually set new standards of creativity and performance, while preserving a reputation for dependability and distinction. Capezio pledges their support and dedication to the advancement of dance, theater and recreation in communities worldwide.

  • Order a Size Up
Size: 5 Color: Black Patent
I bought these for my 9 year old. She wears a size 4 in shoes. I ordered a size 4 and they were way too small. I reordered a size 5 and they seem to fit fine. She has not had a tap class yet, but she says that they feel good on her feet. Before we ordered these, we ordered a cheaper brand, but they seemed cheaply made, so I returned them right away. I would rather pay a few more dollars for quality - but know that you should probably order the next size up. ... show more

  • The shoes are perfect!
Size: 7 Color: Black Patent
The tap shoes are exactly as described, They fit perfectly and look so shiny and new. Can’t wait to start tap dancing soon. I got a half size up and it was the right decision.

  • Super fun
Size: 8 Color: Black Patent
Love these shiny beauties. Sooooo much fun for such a great value. They do leave scuff marks on my “tap board”, so I’m glad I didn’t test on my bare floors…probably all tap shoes do this.? My only issue with these is the strings are *very* short…not a problem unless worn with jeans…then I had to roll up the jeans, or the rubbing kept untying the strings. With shorts/skirts, no issue. Just fun and cute. ... show more

  • Buy bigger
Size: 4.5 Color: Black Patent
I love how the shoe fits on my daughter feet. I did have to get 2 sizes bigger than her original size just for her comfort. Would buy again.

  • True to size
Size: 8 Color: Black Patent
After reading multiple reviews saying these run small I ordered a half size up. It was a mistake. I ordered another half size down and I think they’re still too big. I’m going to try another half size down and hope third times the charm. They seem really nice and I’m anxious to get started. Waiting for a size 7 now. Might get it tomorrow! ... show more

  • Order Up and/or be sure of size.
Size: 9.5 Wide Color: Black Patent
Ordered a 9.5 wide as others said it was true to size. Got shoe and had to take them off half way into tap class as they were too tight in toe. I went to exchange and saw that I had to pay for return as they are a 3rd party seller on Amazon. Cost me half the price of the shoes to return. Called Amazon and they could do nothing for me. So my advice is to order up a size or buy from Amazon themselves. ... show more
