I purchased the single 52.5 lb dumbell set. At the time of purchase, it was more affordable to buy two of the single sets over the 105 lb two dumbell set. I saw other reviews describing poor packaging, but that was not my experience. In fact each dumbell came very well packed. The dumbell set comes tightly packed in a box. Each of the pieces have their own plastic shroud/bag. The box was well taped and then wrapped with heavy duty shipping plastic. That's placed into another tight fitting box and taped very well again. Finally, that box was placed in another tight fitting box for shipping and came very well taped. As far as the dumbell set, I received eight 5 lb plates, two 2.5 lb plates, and two 1.25 lb plates. All plates feel like solid iron with a heavy glossy paint. The weights were not padded so there is minimal paint chipping at where some of the plates contacted each other. In some instances this created some sharp edges, but they don't seem that bad. The dumbell bar and knuckles are solid metal and the knurled grip feels good in my hands. With each of my single dumbell sets, they did not come in a case or bag. I separately purchased a weight rack for my plates which I highly recommend. I bought the CAP barbell 1-inch plate tree and these plates fit it just fine. These are the start of my simple home gym and look forward to working out with them. ... show more

This is a very good product. However, it doesn't feel safe putting more than 30 to 40 pounds on it. The weight move around a lot, and although it does do wonders when it comes to strength training.

Everything came double if not even triple boxed and wrapped and had stuffing on the original box all the weights came individually wrapped there was no chemical strong smell with my set (105lb) pair they just smelled new nothing that made me gag or was to strong as far as the mechanics it seems to work perfect they hold still while I do chest dumbell flys with 35lbs on each only time will tell but as of now extremely happy don’t listen to the review also if you want to add plates to this set make sure there 1.14 or bigger 1inch plates won’t work also I personally love the diamond pattern grip but if your not used to lifting without gloves your going to have to break your hands in or get some gloves me personally gives me more grip I love it it does not feel like it’s digging in my skin like others said overall good product for the price can’t beat it ... show more

    • These are NOT 1“ diameter!

The dumbbell set is a good value. I purchased the set as it was the most cost effective way of getting this quantity of weights. The weights and handle received seem to be of good quality. But the 1” diameter weight plates I already have will not fit on this handle. The weight plates that came with this will fit on my other dumbbell handles, but are a little larger than those 1” handles, which may result in the plates shifting a bit. So, the description indicating this to be 1” is clearly wrong. These are weights; there isn’t a whole lot them, so I didn’t read any reviews. I now see from other reviews, other buyers of this set discovered the same discrepancy. I’ll keep them, unless the weight plate shifting gets to be really annoying. ... show more
