Not every casual artist is going to need 48 canvas panels in the short run but, surprisingly, there are a few of us out here who will go through these four dozen panels in practically no time. Less surprisingly (and more common sensibly) there are a lot of artistic types out there who would stock up on these and use them rationally over time. I happen to teach acrylic art to youngsters from ages 6 through 13 and four dozen panels will be burnt through faster than you can say Vinny Van Gogh. 8”x10” canvas panel boards are the perfect surface for young students, novices and casual artists. These 100% cotton stretched canvas boards are triple primed so you won’t have to prime before painting. I haven’t heard of the company Yoursorter before so I don’t have any track record to base my opinions upon but from first blush with this set I have had very good results. My students used these yesterday and today to start their Halloween themed paintings and they compared favorably (with no mentioned differences) from other premium canvas panels that we have used over the years. The panels took the paint easily, spread well and evenly, and dried in reasonable time. For a bundle of 48 canvas panels, these are currently priced at less than a dollar a piece and become even more economical with the 10% optional Amazon coupon (at the time of this review). If you have a burgeoning interest in creating art and want to have plenty of practice boards, this is a package for you. If you’re a casual artist who wants to stock up to have boards on hand whenever the muse inspires you, this is the package for you. If you have young artists who want to practice and/or paint masterpieces daily (or hourly!), this is a package for you.

I first tried to paint on this canvas with watercolor directly, without a watercolor primer. It will accept watercolor directly, but was a bit resistant. The watercolor paint would sometimes have poor coverage initially when painted, and I needed to brush the paint back and forth not to have little dots of white showing through from the texture of the canvas. (I was using professional grade watercolor paint.) So while I could paint directly on the canvas with watercolor (the painting with the tree) there are other canvas products that have worked better for me for that purpose. (The white sun, clouds and tree are acrylic, and there is some yellow pastel. I like the texture I got from the canvas with the yellow pastel.) The other painting, with the flowers in front, is quite clearly not as good a painting as the watercolor, which has everything to do with I am a better watercolor painter than acrylics painter. But the thing I would point out is that I got very good, even acrylic paint coverage in the sky. I was painting with acrylics directly on the canvas and the paint glided on easily. It was easier to lay paint down with the acrylic paint on this canvas than it was to use watercolor paint. I can see that this canvas would work out well for acrylic paintings. (I did not try oil paint.) Happy Painting!

This is the perfect size for a beginning painter. The bigger sizes were really intimidating for me. They were very sturdy. My mom and I watercolored with them and the paint came out really bright and beautiful. There was no warping like on watercolor paper and the paint spread out really smoothly and easily. I will definitely be buying these again. I am a pretty new painter so I don't know what expert painters would think. However, I thought they were great!

My daughter fell in love with painting and we got her a set that had brushes, paint and canvases, but she burned through the four canvases in days. This is a nice bulk pack that should keep her going for a little while. For beginners, this is a great option. No serious painters in the house, so I can't speak to their quality from a pro perspective.

Received in ripped packaging. Corners of canvas are black and dirty. There is dirt inside of the package. Some of the canvases are yellow in color.

These work really well and are easy to use. I like that they are thin so they don’t weigh much and don’t take up much space. I love them for doing paintings on with my daughter. You get a good amount for the amount of money. Definitely good quality and they’re worth it.
