I first tried to paint on this canvas with watercolor directly, without a watercolor primer. It will accept watercolor directly, but was a bit resistant. The watercolor paint would sometimes have poor coverage initially when painted, and I needed to brush the paint back and forth not to have little dots of white showing through from the texture of the canvas. (I was using professional grade watercolor paint.) So while I could paint directly on the canvas with watercolor (the painting with the tree) there are other canvas products that have worked better for me for that purpose. (The white sun, clouds and tree are acrylic, and there is some yellow pastel. I like the texture I got from the canvas with the yellow pastel.) The other painting, with the flowers in front, is quite clearly not as good a painting as the watercolor, which has everything to do with I am a better watercolor painter than acrylics painter. But the thing I would point out is that I got very good, even acrylic paint coverage in the sky. I was painting with acrylics directly on the canvas and the paint glided on easily. It was easier to lay paint down with the acrylic paint on this canvas than it was to use watercolor paint. I can see that this canvas would work out well for acrylic paintings. (I did not try oil paint.) Happy Painting!

Not every casual artist is going to need 48 canvas panels in the short run but, surprisingly, there are a few of us out here who will go through these four dozen panels in practically no time. Less surprisingly (and more common sensibly) there are a lot of artistic types out there who would stock up on these and use them rationally over time. I happen to teach acrylic art to youngsters from ages 6 through 13 and four dozen panels will be burnt through faster than you can say Vinny Van Gogh. 8”x10” canvas panel boards are the perfect surface for young students, novices and casual artists. These 100% cotton stretched canvas boards are triple primed so you won’t have to prime before painting. I haven’t heard of the company Yoursorter before so I don’t have any track record to base my opinions upon but from first blush with this set I have had very good results. My students used these yesterday and today to start their Halloween themed paintings and they compared favorably (with no mentioned differences) from other premium canvas panels that we have used over the years. The panels took the paint easily, spread well and evenly, and dried in reasonable time. For a bundle of 48 canvas panels, these are currently priced at less than a dollar a piece and become even more economical with the 10% optional Amazon coupon (at the time of this review). If you have a burgeoning interest in creating art and want to have plenty of practice boards, this is a package for you. If you’re a casual artist who wants to stock up to have boards on hand whenever the muse inspires you, this is the package for you. If you have young artists who want to practice and/or paint masterpieces daily (or hourly!), this is a package for you.

There is always a need for canvasses in our house. My wife likes to paint, and I like doing mixed media. I saw this YOURSORTER pack of assorted sizes and decided to order it. The boards arrived and what you get are three different sizes. Six 8" x 10" boards and three each of the 9" x 12" and 11" by 14" sizes. They appeared to be well made and I could not spot any defects. The boards are listed as being 100% premium cotton, triple primed, acid-free, and suitable for oil, acrylic, and mixed media usage. My wife took the two smaller sizes for painting, and I kept the largest size for mixed media. As far as painting goes these worked very well for acrylic. She was happy with how the boards performed for her use and I was happy with how acrylic worked as part of a mixed media project. She found that the boards when used for watercolor paints did not perform quite as well as they did for acrylics but still good enough for her to be okay with the results. Overall, I think these boards are definitely worth trying for your own art projects. The price to quality ratio is very good and we will certainly be getting more.

I picked these up for my kids' art projects. they love painting. My wife is a fairly good artist and helps them beyond what I can. These are boards, not framed canvases. But that is better for my kids. They generally put these on a table to paint instead of on an easel. I think this size makes table top painting easier to do. And there is such a large number of them for a reasonable price that I am not worried about their use.

These painting canvases are a fantastic value for the amount and different sizes that you receive. I was a bit disappointment at first when I had initially thought that they were stretched canvases, however they are thinner by far, and felt cheap to me. However, I am not the artist and my husband said that they are a great value for what he is intending them for. The canvases sit well on his tabletop easel and they are pre-primed which he liked for using his acrylic paints. These canvases are going to be wonderful for the paintings my daughter is requesting of her favorite anime characters for her room, and will sit nice and flush on the wall. Great bundle for the price.

These are decent canvas boards - and the price for the multiple sizes is a good deal. While they aren't going to be good for a professional artist, for kids projects they work well with acrylic paint, and are nice and sturdy and easy to paint on.
