  • Approachable guide with good tips
I've always wanted to be a camper but have always been nervous about it. The author really sounds like she has been doing this awhile and has some tips that, should I ever get the courage up, I'll definitely follow. At least, they seem a lot more approachable now! Recommended for beginners like me.

  • No nonsense, just advice
This book is really just 23 pages of advice, so there's no room for fluff. The advice is very practical, and it caused me (who has recently taken up tent camping as a hobby) to rethink a few things, so that makes it worthwhile. Each paragraph in the book is a self-contained bit of information, and it covers everything from selecting a site to common considerations. It's clear the author is an experienced camper. The last several pages are for you to use to build a checklist of items to bring/consider. The author has started putting things on the lists, but ultimately its up to the reader to fill it out. If you're a newbie at camping, it's worth giving this book a try. It won't take much of your time but will offer great tips. ... show more

  • Good information on tent and trailer camping.
This was a good read on camping. As I'm older now, I'll stick with trailer camping. I like the checklist for both types of camping. I had not considered some of the items listed, so that's a nice feature. Overall, the information is adequate for a camping adventure.
