I fell in love with the Forge I bought about 3 years ago. So much so, it was my Holiday gift to my family and friends. I was heartbroken when Camel Back stopped selling them and was elated when the new Forge came out. So I bought the 12 oz version which fits perfectly under my Coffee pod machine and which helps me from putting so much Java in that I float to work. So the smaller size is a star as well as the heat retention (seems as good as the old version about 2-3 hours YMMV), no spills, fits great in my car's cup holder. But... unlike the older version the lid's gate (is that the right term) is not intuitive. The old version's gate had a button on top of the locking mechanism that you pressed to keep it open and then with a little pressure closed. Smart. The new version has a button on the side which you have to push and in my case, check to see if the gate opens. I had a slight dribble problem on the new version on the back side below the lever. This I resolved by waiting a moment after taking a drink. As you can see from my pics, my old Forge is still good to go, and gets its use on longer rides. Oh did I mentioned I bought a second older version when it was available for cold drinks? You can never have too much Sun Tea on a summer road trip. ... show more

I got one of these to replace a damaged Contigo tumbler. It works better only in one way: the lid has a built-in loop that lets you hang the mug from a carabiner or pack strap. My issue with the mug is the drink mechanism--if you are not careful how you use it, it will dribble on you after you drink. I find that you need to open the door just a crack, and be sure to slurp up all of your liquid, after closing it. If you close it too late, you could dribble. I also think the mechanism is too stuff, it seems to require about 2x the force as my Contigo did. I will keep it for hiking/camping use when the loop is handy, but it is not my daily coffee tool. I am a huge camelbak fan. I bought this when I lost my Contigo Autoseal and was super excited to have an autosealing insulated mug from a company I love. Unfortunately, my hype was greater than the product. I ended up placing this in my cupboard and bought another contigo. Sorry Camelbak, do better, be better. I don't blame the seller. Camelbak used to make excellent travel mugs. They made changes in the pour/sip design that have essentially changed this product from a travel mug to a prank dribble cup. The seller was excellent, though. They have no control over Camelback's failures.
