The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars overall is that there were supposed to be 16 shelf pegs and there were only 12 in the package. We had to go to several local hardware/construction stores to find pegs that would fit. Other than that, the wood is beautiful, the packing was perfect, not a scratch. My husband said the directions were very easy to follow. Couldn't be happier with this bookcase!!!! I would DEFINITELY buy again! ... show more

This is definitely the best assemble yourself product I have ever purchased. It was packaged so perfectly with clear instructions and well labeled pieces. The estimated assembly time was 30 minutes for 2 people but I put it together by myself in 1 hour. I highly recommend this product.

This is great all-round, especially for the price. All real wood and no particle-board. Excellent instructions. Easy to assemble. Only problem was a small imperfection in one of the pieces, but I was able to work around it. Put a little coconut oil on the wood dowels to make them go in more easily.

I am very happy with this bookcase. Now I have space for more books. I am using the bookcase to hold children's books which tend to be rather tall, so we decided to only put in one of the shelves for now. The only issue we had in putting it together was that some of the pegs were a little loose. We did not use glue, but the screws make the bookcase sturdy enough that there is no wobble. Since the pegs that hold the shelves are tight, the pegs were inserted after the the top, bottom, and sides were screwed together and before the back was put on instead of following the instruction to set the pegs before assembly, so that we could see how the books would fit. There was some dings in the wood, but luckily you can not see them in the assembled piece. I like how this bookcase is actually made of solid wood. I would have preferred painted maple instead of pine, but that would have cost ten times the price of this bookcase. The back of the bookcase is painted particle board which is actually nicer than some of the cheaper backed bookcases on the market with some sort of chip board. ... show more
