It's good olive oil. It's not great. But at least you know it's the real thing. Man, how the Italians - and to a lesser extent the Greeks - have messed up the olive oil business with all the tainted product which they have put on the market. I still believe that the best olive oils come from Italy, and to a lesser extent Greece, but it's a crapshoot and you never know what you're going to get. I hope some day they get their act together and establish standards so the consumer can have confidence in their product. But until then, I will stick with reliable olive oils like this one from American producers that I know I can trust. ... show more

I honestly did not expect much from this inexpensive olive oil from CALIFORNIA of all places (I lived my whole life up until this point thinking that good olive oil only comes from the Mediterranean). But wow, this is such a unique, bold, tasty olive oil! I could practically drink it. I wouldn't use it as a neutral cooking oil because of its rich flavor.
