These sheets are not like the microfiber sheets of today. These are soft, sturdy, organic cotton. After initial washing, they're soft against your skin, crisp, with substantial elastic on the fitted sheet. They fit well, launder well, everything about them is higher quality. I bought the olive green, but it's more a deep forest green that makes you feel like you're being held safely inside an evergreen forest when you sleep.

Wonderful 100% Cotton Sheets!

Sheets from Design Den have been our "go to brand" for several years now, as we prefer a natural fiber. Primary bdrm, kids bdrms, guest rooms, dorms & apt. Theses are our preferred sheets. We love the percale cotton feel, as it breathes and is not too heavy for restful sleeping in Southern California weather. (although I have purchased the sateen versions also and they are beautiful as well with a subtle smooth sheen to them). These are very soft, yet crisp, 100% cotton. The dark charcoal color is very nice, rich, saturated and true to the advertised photos. They wash up great and actually get even better with each wash and there is not ANY piling as it is a wonderful natural fiber. The color is still perfect and has not faded at all after about a dozen washes. The deep pockets and fit is perfect on our queen pillow-top mattresses plus a mattress protector. These quality sheets absolutely is worth the money compared to cheaper microfiber options. These are a must buy item!

The search is over! These sheets are PERFECT.

Imagine a sappy TV commercial for fabric softener or lemonade or life insurance. You're in the backyard. The sky is radiant blue. There's a kid on a tricycle, a glass of lemonade on a picnic table, and various family members talking and laughing in slow motion. A ray of sun bursts through the laundry that is drying on the clothesline and causes a charming lens flare on the camera. [Stick with me. I'm going somewhere with this, I promise.] Now... think closely about those bedsheets, blowing in the breeze. Get really specific in your imagination. Do those sheets look SILKY? Are they shiny and glossy? Do they look slippery? Nope. They just look like... linen. Or cotton. Crisp, clean, inviting. Those sheets you're picturing - they have a PERCALE weave, not sateen. For years I've been unhappy with the various bedsheets I've owned. Sheets are tricky bastards. I've been hoodwinked over and over. I go to the store, unzip a corner of the packaging, and shove my hand in as far as I can. I close my eyes and try to imagine lying on them. "Oooh, these are so silky and smooth! Oh my giggledy-goggledy-gosh! So soft! I just have to have them!" I giggle like a little girl and fling open my wallet. [SIDE NOTE: For what it's worth, I'm a long-haired straight dude who lives alone in an RV in the woods. But yes, I've been known to giggle.] I race home, wash the sheets, and dive headfirst into my newly made bed. Halfway through the first night, I'm already disappointed. They felt great for the first 2 minutes and then... something's just wrong. Sneaky sheet-bastards tricked me again! But how??? It took me until my 40s to figure it out. I don't want silky sheets. I don't want sateen. I just want sheets that feel like... sheets. I want PERCALE. I spent 20 years touring as an actor - countless nights in hotels. I always loved the feel of hotel sheets. Guess what? They're not sateen. They're PERCALE. Ninety-eight percent of the sheets I see in stores are sateen. I don't know why. PERCALE is the weave that feels like home, comfort, and rest. Say it with me... "Percale." One more time, a little louder... "Percale." Well done. I'm proud of you. As for this particular product by this particular company: California Design Den nailed it. The weight of these sheets is perfect. The fit is perfect. The elastic on the fitted sheet is robust and strong - the sheet stays put. The pillowcases don't fit my pillows quite right, but that's a reflection on my pillows, not the sheets. I love that the pillowcases have an envelope enclosure! The whole product feels like it will last. The price is terrific. PRO TIP: Buy plain white sheets. Trust me. (Remember those sheets you imagined in the TV commercial, blowing in the wind? What color were they?) It really adds to the clean, inviting, floating-off-to-sleep feel. I can't explain it. I've always bought dark-colored sheets before but I will never go back! Plus, you can bleach them if needed. So... Forget about thread count. Forget about "you need to spend 200 bucks to get a great set of sheets." Forget about silky, slippery, and shiny. Forget about "this amazing new micro-fiber bla-bla-bla blend." Forget about patterns and colors. Buy this great set of PERCALE sheets, made by a great company, in plain white, and GO. TO. SLEEP. You need it. Reading this review must have been EXHAUSTING.

Love the sheets first set didn’t fit so exchanged but they have bad cust service

Update. I exchanged the sheets and the new pair fits perfectly. So other pair was defective. I do like the sheets and if their customer service had been good would have giving them a 5 star. The sheets feel nice not thin but the fit is so hard to get on a Calif king and only have 14.5 inch mattress. I just put them on. Just have concern if shrink won’t fit. I have been trying to find new set of sheets. I’ve looked at so many these had good reviews. I think they could be defective and I reached out to the manufacturer who basically just told me the sheets are that size check your bed size which exactly it matches and then when I said, I think that they’re defective should I return them or should I replace them and their comment was snarky basically if you want to return them and get another sheet, let us know but you’re gonna get the same size that’s not the kind of company I like doing business with very disappointed. The reason they’re getting such low stars is because of the fact of their customer service. If I’m gonna get the same size I might as well just return them as opposed to trying to have them replaced. I was expecting they would honor the sheet saying maybe these are defective why don’t we exchange them and let’s see how a new set fits. Because I like the feel of the sheets I’m going to ask to have them exchanged with Amazon, but if the sheets come back and they’re still not fitting the California king, which is exactly the same size as supposedly the sheets are supposed to fit then I’ll just return the second pair. These people need to figure out how to have better customer service.

I was surprised at these sheets when I first took them out of the package. I thought they sent me the wrong size, but didn’t realize that the quality of the elastic around the bottom sheet was very thick. It stretches out, but then holds the sheet very tight. Nice deep inside tuck flap on the pillow cases. The quality is very nice and soft and cool to the touch. And I love the pattern.

Worth the Purchase

I read all the reviews good and bad before I make a purchase. I have a 15" deep mattress and a husband who kicks the sheets until they come out from being tucked. I am extremely particular about softness and quality. This is what I found about these sheets. Yes, they are wrinkled even when you take them immediately out of the dryer. When the bed was made, the wrinkles were pretty much gone. I don't see any wrinkles when the bed is made or when the lights are out so no big deal for me. The top sheet measured correctly to what is advertised. (Curiosity made me do that). The bottom sheet has FANTASTIC elastic and the deep pockets fit my mattress perfectly. I thought the sheets were soft enough and comfortable after the 1st wash. I didn't feel that way about the pillowcases until they were washed a few times. What surprised me is that my husband hasn't undone the sheet where it's tucked at the bottom. My opinion is that the sheets are as advertised. The color is nice and I thought they were priced fairly. I would buy them again if needed and I definitely recommend them.

Nice Sheets!

August 2026: I was replacing an old set of California Design Den sheets that I bought in 2020 that were worn and developing holes (California Design Den 100% Cotton Sateen King Bed Sheet Set, 6 Pcs, White.) I decided to switch from the cotton sateen sheets to the organic cotton, so I waited until they went on sale, and then I purchased the 4 pc king set in the color True Ivory. I use sunless tanner and it tends to leave faint brown spots on my white sheets (the spots come out in the wash, but in between washes the sheets tend to look dirty because of the spots.) I love white sheets, but I decided to go with the True Ivory instead of white to help disguise the sunless tanner spots. I was worried that the color might be darker than pictured and that the sheets would not be as soft as the sateen ones and might not be as comfortable. When the sheets arrived, the color was perfect; exactly what I wanted. Close to white but not bright white. The sheets do feel slightly different than the sateen ones; they are less slick feeling, I guess you could say. But they are soft and comfortable and I really like the idea of having 100% organic cotton sheets. The deep pockets are necessary for the sheets to fit on my mattress. Without them, the sheets would not fit, as my mattress is thick/high, and I also have a mattress cover. The sheets arrived nicely packaged and with the organic certification information included. I am very happy with these sheets.
