My daughter's school program this year was "Pioneer Life" so this costume was perfect. It fit great after we hemmed it a bit...she was able to do all the dances without any trouble. The back closes at the neck with a single piece of velcro. It held on fine during the entire hour-long program, but if you're going to wear it for something longer or where you might be moving around a lot, it would be easy to put a button on. The fabric is really quite sturdy for a costume and when we hemmed it, it was just like hemming a "real" dress. The integrated apron and bonnet really tie the whole thing together and give an authentic look. ... show more

decent quality costume for $20. I'm 160lbs and M fit me perfect. Size chart says M fits up to 140lbs but that is false. Order size down if you like a snug fit.

This is a great costume. I purchased a medium and I was able to wear a tight-fitting shirt and pants underneath for warmth (I knew I was going to be outside all day, and I didn't want to wear a jacket on top and not be able to see the costume). I'm 5'4" and 130 lbs, for reference. I usually need to wear "petite" length pants, but this length was fine. Not too long on me, and I didn't need to hem it. If you're taller, lit will probably be above your ankles, as the picture shows. It's a polyester-type fabric. People thought it was very cute. I've washed it once so far, and it held up fine. My recommendation is if you're going to wear clothing underneath, go up a size. ... show more
