This set is so cute!! My 6 year old bought it with her birthday money. We have many calico critters items. This one did not disappoint. No real assembly other than the stairs and applying stickers. I bought this for my 4 year olds birthday and it was immediately her favorite gift! There are a good bit of smaller pieces, but she's done well keeping them all together. There wasn't much assembly since most everything was already there and together. This is a little on the pricey side, but we are new to Calico Critters and i'm sure it's pretty normal for those who have littles that have been into them for a while. ... show more

    • Quality seems to be going down hill
We have purchased SO many calico critters over the years. The last couple, including this one, seem to be less sturdy and not the quality we have come to love and appreciate. I hope the standards come back up soon.

I would recommend without a doubt! What little girl doesn't like playing dress up, make-up, getting hair done, etc. This set is great!! I love all the little accessories that go with it. I mean just look at the hair dryer and curling iron. The chair can push into the holes on the top so it keeps it secure too. We added a couple more sets to this like the dress up they show in the picture and an extra hair dresser doll. My little 3 year old played hours with this. She loves little things probably because she has an older sister who likes to play with her as well. Storage note - We have found keeping all the accessories in a little bin from the dollar store, or a ziploc and placing back into the box for storing works well. If you are like us, we have so many little things between Barbies, doll houses, and calico critter, LOL dolls, it can be challenging to keep them with the sets. First of all, this set is definitely an eye-catcher! Even days after we opened it, my daughter keeps coming to look at the pictures on the box. It is very giftable for sure. Inside of the box there is a medium-sized salon, with 3 bigger furniture pieces and a whole bunch of tiny accessories. For this reason, it definitely needs adult supervision. The set comes with only one pony figure, which is a little frustrating (especially at this price), but it is cute nonetheless. The figure is really well-made, itโ€™s legs and arms can move, you can dress and undress it, decorate itโ€™s hair, etc. Overall, this set is very cute. It is not the most adorable Calico Critters set, but it is definitely special and not like the others. Keep in mind, that for a quality gameplay you may need to purchase some extra figures. ... show more

This is soooooo stinking cute! My sister in law is a cosmetologist and my girl was so excited to have a hair salon, just like her aunt. It's a cute side addition to her big critter house. All of the accessories are cute as well.
