This is a nice hat. It's well made, with the stitching and embroidery both being nice. The liner is nice, and the hat is comfortable and warm. The "brim" (not sure what it's called - but the flap that folds up where the logo is embroidered) is a fleece material and is nice and soft. I ordered this to give to a hunting buddy. The quality is great. The cap pulls down nicely below the ear lobes to keep the whole ear warm. I don't like beanies that leave half the ear exposed. The hat is two plies of knit at the top with the nice soft fleece band. Personally, having a shaved head and liking soft hats, I would have liked a fleece interior more than the knit interior. But the knit is plenty soft. Its not too thick over the ears so as to deaden sound too much while hunting. The embroidery is very nice. The print of the deer and trees looks great! Overall, it's a nice looking well designed cap. Regarding size, I have a larger head at 23 1/2" around. This was snug, but not uncomfortably tight. Any larger though and it might get uncomfortable. The orange is more of a subdued Blaze orange. It's not the super glowing type of blaze orange. It's more "stylish" than a hunting safety color, but it is still visible. Overall, it's a very nice cap. It doesn't feel like a cheap promotional giveaway cap. I feel that it's a fair value... a nice cap for the money. Time will tell how well it holds up.     • A Dull‑Orange Beanie Built for the Woods but NOT Hunting
First of all, this is NOT blaze-orange. This was noticed first when I took my dog for a walk at our hunting camp and a family member pointed out that they couldn't see that it was orange from across the field. We then compared it to actual hunting gear, and this hat's orange is more like a rust orange. It is not high visibility, and WILL NOT meet hunting visibility requirements! Had to deduct stars because of the advertising error causing safety concerns. I tested the Calhoun Busch Light Blaze Orange Hunting Beanie, and it meets practical warmth, with a fun and outdoorsy style. The knit material is thick enough to keep your head warm on cold morning hikes or late‑season walks, but still breathable so you don’t overheat once you start moving. The deer and forest camo design adds a nice visual touch—subtle enough for everyday winter wear, but still very much in the hunting‑camp spirit. The fit has a good amount of stretch without feeling loose, and it stays put even when you’re active. It’s lightweight, comfortable, and easy to toss in a jacket pocket or pack. Pros Warm knit construction: Cozy without being overly bulky. Fair‑visibility orange: Good for outdoor visibility. Deer & forest camo design: Adds personality without being loud.
