I can't say too much about this XLR cable. The overall quality is great and the fact that it's shielded helps keep interference noise, and the hum I was hearing before to a minimum as well. The heavy gauge wires are well protected in their thick rubber housing. The gold plating on the 3.5 mm plug says a lot about this XLR cable. The fact that the XLR end locks into place is also a big plus. No more worrying about the microphones coming unplugged while recording. The XLR plug that came with my microphone also locked into place, but it took quite a bit of force to separate the plug from the microphone. The XLR plug on this cable connects firmly with the microphone while being easy to remove when the recording session is over. This is just a personal preference, but I also like the fact that even the XLR plug is black. Not that that makes any difference, but let me add that if a repair had to be done, the plugs on each end of this cable come apart easily, and after one glance at the soldering inside the housings, I can say that Cable Matters didn't skimp on anything with this cable. Highly recommended.

I needed a cable adaptor from a soundboard output to the input of a wireless transmitter. It clicked in perfectly and worked without wobble. The build of the cable is sturdy and I like the thickness of the wire. The xlr female to TRS male fits securely. It seems well built. I ordered the 3 foot cable and it suits my needs.
