I did SO MUCH research on duvets while trying to upgrade my bedding… I have pretty bad household allergies, so I spent hours looking into not only “fill power”, different weights, and seasons, but I also wanted to know more about synthetic/down/other feathers, etc, so I could get the weight and fluff I wanted without the sneezing! Let me tell you…. THIS DUVET IS A 10!!! It’s like a fluffy hotel comforter, kinda noisy but just how I like it. It’s heavy but not too hot, my allergies haven’t been bothered, and my very very hot sleeper of a boyfriend is also in love (he sweats no matter what, so no EXTRA sweating is a win in our book). We got the (oversized?) king for our king bed/duvet cover, so it’s extra fluffy which I love. The only thing keeping this score from being an 11, is that there’s no ties in the middle of the top or bottom edges to secure it to the duvet cover, so it kind of sinks in sometimes, which is no biggie for me. It’d goldendoodle approved, my puppy loves it! I’ll never go back!

So far we’ve been pretty happy with this purchase. The price was amazingly low for the quality of product we received. This comforter seems to be true to it’s claim that it’s "Heavy Warmth for Winter”. I live in NYC, and so far it’s been a little too toasty for us. The comforter it’s replacing was a little lighter and probably more suited for our climate. But I think this would be perfect for anyone living in northern climes who get subzero temps. The whole thing seems well constructed, good stitching with the down pretty evenly distributed thruout the baffled boxes. The only negative about his duvet insert was a notable odor to it when we first opened the bag. And it wasn’t a “natural” bird feather/down smell that the manufacturer claims. It was definitely an artificial smell (reminded me of dry cleaning solution) that took a couple of days to air out. I was a little concerned at first but after shaking it every day we finally got the smell out. And it fluffed up quite nicely. Even tho this and similar products are listed as comforters, they are meant to be inserts, like a pillow, that you put into a duvet cover. It’s the cover that gets laundered frequently, not the comforter. So it didn’t bother me that this was “Dry Clean Only”. I even used a top sheet so I don’t have to wash the duvet cover every time as well. The duvet cover also helps with any shedding which frankly I find to be a natural occurrence with most down comforters, even more expensive ones.

LOVE this duvet! I'm very picky with my duvets and this one passed! I've had a few guests in the past complain about being cold at night when staying over but this duvet has been a game changer! No more complaining and honestly fairly similar quality to my 100% down feather duvet that I have on my bed. Takes a few days to honestly weeks for it to reach max thickness but worth the wait.
