    • The paper's ok but...
I like the size & weight of the paper. But the envelopes are terrible. They are very thin - you can read right through them - and there is very little adhesive on them. I don't recommend this set.

    • Classic laid finish and good with ink
This is my second box of C.R. Gibson stationery, which I've adopted since Crane & Co. made its stationery tacky by printing the Crane logo (not a watermark) on every sheet. This C.R. Gibson paper has a classic laid finish with its subtle lined watermark and hint of texture. This box, product CS81-20, is slightly different from the CS81-3 box that I bought 4 years ago. The color and style are the same, but the quantity of sheets/envelopes has fallen from 50/25 to 40/20. The finish is also slightly different. The laid texture on the back of the sheet used to be a little sharper, more like hand-made laid paper, but the back now has a gentler texture and is almost as smooth as the front. I think this is a practical improvement that makes writing and printing on the back side easier while preserving the paper's classic laid style. This paper has worked well with all the ball points, roller balls, and fountain pens I have tried on it. There has been no feathering, no bleed-through, and no noticeable show-through of writing on either the front or the back. My pens write smoothly on this paper, and their inks stay where the pens put them and dry fast. I can recommend this product as a good, versatile writing paper. ... show more

    • Perfect for nice letters
Very happy with this purchase! My boyfriend and I have to be socially distant from each other while he is at college, and this stationery is perfect for the letters I’m writing him. It was difficult to find nice paper that wasn’t super frilly, but this product is clean and sharp. So far, none of the pens I’ve used on it bleed through. My one criticism is that you can see some of the writing through the envelope, although not quite enough to really read the letter. I will definitely be buying this again! ... show more

    • Not the finest stationary but needed some right away
I had to write some letters. I wanted the finest stationary available but I am poor and needed it right away. I sent my letters but sadly no one has written back yet, perhaps it was because it wasn’t the finest. I don’t really know. I am hopeful though that one day I will receive a reply.

Few people write letters any more, but I still like to drop a note when I mail cards. Yet it's almost impossible to find simple, quality stationery. Thankfully I found CR Gibson's boxed writing paper and matching envelopes. Would love to have a pale pink or grey but white is all they sell like this. Great value for the money. ... show more
