These run large. I am a size 8 and bought an 8 and even with the sock liner installed they are a bit big, but I wear them to garden and mow so it’s not an issue. I would not walk the dogs in these shoes.the liner is super thick and warm so my feet are very sweaty when I wear them in spring through fall, but feels very warm and comfy in the snow to shovel. I wanted mud shoes that I could step into and out of, for the chicken coop. The liners are snuggly but they are looser and easier to step into without them. Fit exactly as described, a little tighter with the liners, and looser without.

Let me preface with I purchased these boots to be used primarily in my gardens. I have regular-sized calves and narrow feet. I typically wear 7.5 sized sandals and usually size 8 closed-toe shoes. I ordered a size 8 boot. The boot is tight as my foot enters the shoe. That said, I want a boot that is relatively easy to slide on and off as I'm in and out of my shoes several times a day. My toes abruptly hit the top and the toe box is too snug. The width of the boot is very large, side-to-side, in fact disproportionally large. I ordered two other garden boot styles at the same time. Unfortunately, I have special needs in footwear due to a partially paralyzed foot and a brace on my left leg. I tried two pairs of yard shoes on Amazon and couldn’t wear them. This one has a little more give and works fine.

I was looking for a quick on and off waterproof short boot to wear on dewy mornings and rainy days. There is very little foot support and just rubber on the insides. I tho't there was going to be liners that came with the boots as described on Amazon, but they didn't come with this pair. They weren't really easy on and off either. These are nice gardening boots, for when you want to walk out into the yard after a rain, or you're working in mud. I ordered a size larger because I just wanted to be able to slip into these easily and quickly without having to bend over and pull them them on. I mean you wouldn't want to go walking with them if they are loose, but for just slipping into and walking around the yard, it would make sense to order a larger size.
