These came interestingly packaged, but they were indeed safe and no tears, rips or other defects. I wore these for a few weeks daily before writing this review to really give them a good test out. I am a big dude, 6'3 and have some pretty wide size 12's, finding comfy footwear is a challenge for me and once I find something that fits well I often buy a few pairs and just wear them out. I love to go on walks, hiking and live on land that is a dense forest with a ton of gravel driveways and walk ways so I have some different terrains that I was able to test these out on. First lets talk about this fit, it is spot on. Perfectly sized in length and width. Quite possibly the best fitting pair of shoes I have ever bought. Build wise I cannot find anything that would make me worry. Everything seems to be well put together and there were no defects that I can see after a few weeks. I love how wide these are, going back to my other shoes makes it painfully obvious how much I am cramming my feet into shoes that are too narrow. Style wise I appreciate the simplicity of them. Orange gum soles with a darker gray, chefs kiss to the color maker on that choice. They look causal but can pull off business casual with ease. Now for the reason of 4 vs 5 stars, and honestly this is more of a me thing than anything but here goes. The thickness of the soles is kind of thin. Now, I get these are walking shoes meant more for office / city walking but I have gravel driveways and walking on some of them with the bigger rocks was sort of painful as it felt like you were almost walking on your bare feet. The bottom sole is thin... you feel small cracks in the pavement, you feel tiny pebbles... your connected with the earth by millimeters of material. What does that mean in the long run? I only gave them a few weeks and the sole is still looking pretty much brand new, but with that little of material down there I am a bit worried about the long term longevity of these otherwise awesome shoes.

I got these yesterday, threw them on, and went out to see some live music where i was standing for about 3 hours. They were comfortable right from the get-go, with no noticeable need to break them in. Fit was perfect, exactly what I wanted a size 12/size 45 shoe to fit like. Unfortunately, we just got 6" of snow and we're entering a deep freeze, so it doesn't look like I'll be wearing these again for at least several weeks, possibly a couple of months. These are definitely not a winter shoe. So I'm just going to review them based on one use, but I'm looking forward to wearing these a lot this spring. Out of the package, quality seemed good. They were shipped wrapped with a thick band around them and it squished the heel in a bit, but after I wore them the heel popped back out. Stitching is good, fabric is nice, no weird smells, overall a better shoe than I expected at this price point. They come with a fairly thick and pleasatnly soft removable insole, but I actually prefer that. If you want a closer to barefoot experience you could try taking the insole out but you would probably be better off buying a shoe that wasn't built for an insole. If you've had other zero drop shoes, you know the drill. If you haven't, make sure you read up on what a zero drop shoe is. I'm not a dedicated zero drop fan but I had a pair of Lems years ago and liked them. This seemed like an affordable way to give the concept another shot. Zero drop shoes didn't change my life, but I think my foot, hip, and back issues benefit from changing my stance once in a while. I'll note that these are marketed as running shoes. I no longer run, so I can't talk about their utility as an actual running shoe. But as a decent looking pair of kicks to wear out to a show, they do just fine.

While I enjoy the look of the shoes, they are wider than I expected so the feel is a little unique. While they still work for me, I think I would get a different style if I were to do it again. So far the shoes have held up through fairly regular use to the office, which includes all day wear and walking outside.

Tips provide lots of room for toes to spread or swell. Outer sole has a lot of flex to it can twist or bend as needed. Fabric is breathable and keeps foot cool preventing sweaty or stinky feet. Heel is cushioned but rubs on back of ankle due to poor packaging. Shrink wrapped instead of in a box. Heel of shoe is bent inward causing them to rub on your skin as you walk. Shoelaces are long with good thickness and are sturdy tie-up well. However, shoelaces sit/end a bit high causing Toung to rub on your top foot/front ankle. Might have to do with how far shoelace holes go. The rubbing would be a bigger issue if the knitted fabric wasn't so soft and flexible allowing some give in these areas. Inner sole is removable allowing you more room or to use a sole of your choice. Shoe outer sole is even from end to end giving you a flat even stance. No arch support and leaves you flat footed. This may be a good or bad thing depending on your circumstances. Stitch work and assembly look well done and shoe is comfortable and works as an around the house shoe but as I walk outside, I can feel the rocks and uneven spots of the road or ground I walk on which is a bit uncomfortable for example as I walked over rocks/boulders at local reservoir it was not so great. But on the grass, it wasn't bad. Not sure I would like to run in these. Design and color differences between shoe and sole look good and fit well with jean pants or shorts. If you have occasional swelling feet these would work for you so long as they aren't all bent. Notice last picture after wearing for a couple of days heal still stayed bent and the flap/Toung started to roll up and inward from pushing on my foot/leg.
