As someone who works in historic restoration, I've installed a lot of permanent fixtures, and my first impression of these shelves was immediate: this is a serious, high-quality product. Build Quality & Materials The first thing I noticed was the weight. The box was surprisingly heavy, and for good reason. These aren't flimsy, stamped-metal shelves; they are thick, solid 304 stainless steel. From a materials and design standpoint, they are excellent. The bends are clean, all edges are smooth with no sharp spots, and the brushed nickel finish is flawless and even. This is the kind of "built to last" quality I look for in anything I'm going to permanently install in a home. The Installation: Where It Gets Tricky This is where my 4-star rating comes in. The product itself is 5-star, but the instructions are a significant weak point. To be clear, this is a recessed shelf designed to be installed into a tiled wall. This is not a simple stick-on or screw-in job; it requires precise cutting of your tile and backer board. For a critical, waterproof application like this, clear instructions are essential, and these fall short. The Amazon listing actually provides more critical details than the paper in the box, specifically mentioning the 1/5" cut depth and tolerances needed. This vital info should be front and center in the manual. Furthermore, the instructions don't offer any specific recommendations for tile/grout adhesive, which is a major omission. A proper, waterproof, and load-bearing install depends entirely on using the right product. For my own installation, I plan to use LOCTITE Power Grab Ultimate (a polymer-based construction adhesive) to secure it into the recessed opening before tiling. Final Thoughts These shelves are beefy, well-made, and look fantastic. Based on the sheer heft and quality of the SUS 304 stainless, I have high confidence they will hold up beautifully for years. However, I'm docking a star for the poor instructions. If you're a seasoned DIYer or a professional, you'll figure it out. These are nice shelves, BUT they are not easy to install. They only work for tile showers and you have to DRILL to install them. If you want to do all of that they would probably work great. Seem like they hold a lot and would be sturdy if installed correctly.

Not that easy to install. On the box and elsewhere, they mention “no hard assembly required,” but then the directions say to use a grout removing tool. I am not a handywoman per se, I can get stuff done but I have to now go and dig around in the toolbox in the garage to hopefully find a makeshift grout remover. Otherwise, I’ll leave this for someone to help with. Was looking forward to putting these up… At least they have a lifetime warranty… ... show more

I can honestly say I have never hated an item from Amazon, but I truly HATE this item. The product’s photos show it on tile but NOT ON GROUT (see my pics) but come to find out you can ONLY install it on the grout. You need a grout removal grinding tool to remove 1/4 inch of grout, then you need a silicone sealant, and they say that’s “easy installation “- LIE!!!! I would have been willing to put in work to install it, but not at a grout line, my intent was to have it look like their online photos where it’s in the middle of large tiles (see my pics). To add to my annoyance, the box says “mounting hardware included”, which further confused me because (1) there is none included and (2) what hardware do I need? I thought I just needed silicone sealant and a grouting tool (neither of which I own by the way!! Have to laugh!) Anyway, the actual shelves themselves have a nice weight to them and feel like good quality, so I’ll probably repurpose them for a different use. ... show more
