3-9x40 Excellent scope. Almost everything about it as true as stated in description. - It definitely is an HD glass. It's clear through all ranges of magnification. - Turrets are crisp one way (elevation up), slightly mushy but still audible on the way back (elevation down) - Illumination is not day bright, but it doesn't need to be for me - Reticle is nice and thin - parallax at 10 yards is amazing Here's why I took away a star. As you can see in the picture it is 1 lbs, 3.7 oz, which makes it 19.7 oz without the flipup caps or rings. I believe it's advertised as 14.5 oz or somewhere around there. In the world of scopes that is a HUGE difference, if you are trying to make a lightweight setup. There aren't a whole bunch of scope in this segment where you have hd glass, 10 yard parallax and it being lightweight, so I was very excited when I found the R5. And it's still an amazing value, but the weight. I think if bushnell could make the turrets exposed (benchrest style), truly get the weight of the scope under 15 oz and keep the price the same, I'll buy 5 of these scope instantly. ... show more

This scope is better than my $2K Nightforce and knocking on my Zeiss's door . CLEAR ! easy to use . Knobs are a bit stiff but smooth and spot on . For what it cost I haven't seen anything close . And with the app it puts your range on the money .

The glass is average for this price, however, the adjustment clicks ar not audible clicks, and it is hard to adjust because the dentents are wishy washy, not very distinct.

It's everything I would expect from a scope in this price range, not nock your socks off amazing but it's bright it's clear, the reticle is awesome and the build quality feels solid. Head and shoulders better than the vortex diamondback and maybe even better than the viper in every aspect but field of view but for the money it's sitting right where it should be which would get it 4 stars but I'm giving it 5 because after shooting with it on my ar I fell in love with the doa reticle ... show more

Its a nice scope. I paid $246 for one on 6/18/25 now on 7/27/25 they are $310 thats a $64 increase in about 6 weeks. I liked the first one so much I bought another one from Sportsmans Warehouse yesterday for $258. Still got free shipping.
