  • Just buy one, you won't be disappointed
I would challenge anyone to find a better overall value than the TRS-25 for just about any rifle, including an AR style rifle like mine. I'm not sure if Bushnell is putting premium parts and research into this device or if they've managed to just reverse engineer several high end red dot sights and then produce their own based on those lessons, but I am not complaining one bit! Great work, Bushnell, these kind of quality products at good prices are exactly what the value minded gun enthusiast needs! Here's my experience so far: Mounted on my own custom built AR 15 with free float hand guard with full Picatinny rail about 2 inches from back of top of receiver. Experimented with a couple of positions and settled on this position in order to accommodate a 3X magnifier, which is being replaced due to an issue with holding center: UTG 3X Magnifier with Flip-to-side QD Mount, W/E Adjustable Approx 1000 rounds put through gun with zero problems with the TRS-25, types of rounds so far are Winchester 223 55g - 50 rounds, off brand 556 55g - 60 rounds, American Eagle 556 55g - 600 rounds, PMC 556 62g - 300 rounds After first 100 rounds had to tighten mount a bit, but still held zero Able to hit paper easily at 50 & 100 yards with 1 MOA group Able to hit metal targets at 200, 250, 280 & 300 yards with and without magnifier, targets ranged in size from chest size down to golf ball Bottom line: I seriously doubt you need a Trijicon or EOTech, if you do then please lend me some money. This red dot is great on battery, low on weight, easy on the eye and if you are a decent shot you'll hit what you are aiming at. Buy one and try it, if you really can't make it work for you then return it for the big buck brand. Either way, see you at the range! ... show more

  • Second one purchased - same Bushnell quality at a great price
Like a few of my fellow AR owners, I like to build my guns. I actually had quite a few spare parts, and only needed to get a new completed upper to build another rifle/pistol. Decided on the latter, since my wife was seriously eyeing the first pistol I built. That one also runs with the TRS-25,and is a blast (pun intended) to shoot. The TRS-25 is always easy to zero, hold zero, and the red door makes acquisition inside 100 yards a cinch. Both pistols run great, and we both can shoot center of target at 25-100 yards standing, no support. I would definitely recommend to someone looking for fast acquisition within 100 yards, even though it's actually easy to hit a 10" steel plate out to 200 yards from a bench rest or prone position. ... show more

  • Awesome bang for you're buck!
For those on a budget, it's hard to beat this. I wanted an eotech badly after building my first AR, but had no funds to do so. Now that I have this, I'm completely confident with sticking with it for close quarters training/plinking. It is bright, clear, sturdy and reliable. Very good investment. It is not as clear as some of the higher end red dots when looking through a magnifier, but it holds its own against the aimpoints. I will never drop the money on an aimpoint as long as these are still around. Maybe I just got a good one, I don't know, but i absolutely love it. It is paired with the vortex vmx-3t Flip mount magnifier, and they work as a great combo. I may swap out for a good 1-4x or 1-6x scope when funds are there, but this is my fun and gun setup. If you're in the same position as I was, get it. very good bang for your buck. Check out YouTube reviews and you'll get a lot of info and mostly all praise on this little guy. Good luck! ... show more

  • OK Bang for your buck
Great red dot under $100. I got this on paper with my laser sighter then took it out and had it sighted quickly. Accurately shot over 100 rounds. I went with the 1/3 co witness riser but don't like it, very low in the view of the TRS and the lower right corner where the led emitter is starts to interfere with my vision. I was considering the vortex strikefire for double the price because of the flip up covers, buttons instead of knob control and 5mm larger view but it is oddly 1 moa larger dot. I went with this and I'm super happy with what it is for the money, it's a good entry level, a great price. My cons: I want a larger view although this is fine. I don't like the knob adjustment as it requires looking at it or I'm turning it the wrong direction for brightness. The dust cover is a basic rubber band thing sort of thing that I will lose at some point. I don't regret buying this at all, it was well within budget and does a great job. Let me add; red dot MOA gets a little odd, seems like wrong use of MOA term to me. At 50 yards the red dot covers my whole 1" target (advertised at 3 moa the dot is 1.5" at 50 yards). Going to 100 yards the dot is 3" covering my 1" target so I must bring the dot over target and to a center that I can't see behind the dot. Obviously a loss of accuracy due to the size of the dot but in the end it's a quick acquire tool and it's still a shot on the organ intended even if you miss by an inch. Trying to slowly aim will make the shot less accurate and you will have to move off target and back on to acquire the 1" target as memory is holding it's position for you. I hope my laymen's description is helpful. ... show more

  • Great sight
I put this on my Ruger Mini-14 and dang what a great sight. It took me all of 5 minutes and 10 rounds to dial this in and it's dead on now. You can spend a lot more but these Bushnell optics are simplicity and accuracy

  • Solid, reliable red dot
The Bushnell TRS-25 used to be the gold standard, and nearly the only option, for reliable red dots on a budget. If you wanted something under or around one bill, it was either this or a cheap airsoft, open-emitter window dot. Even though it's been overshadowed by some other budget options, this is still a solid choice with a robust brand name behind it. ... show more
