Purchased this scope to transform a multipurpose AR I built into a hunting rifle. This AR has had a Burris MTAC 1-4×24 scope on it for mid range, it has also worn a Sightmark ghost sight for close range. I decided to try my share at deer hunting with this rifle since it has an 18" barrel. I immediately started looking at options in the $150-$350 price range. The Vortex Diamondback tactical was very tempting at the high end. But I stumbled across this Bushnell AR optics 4.5-18x40. Watched a few videos on it and it had good reviews over all. I like the fact it is 1" because it keeps the weight down. I caught it on sale for $168. Paired it with Monstrum cantilever scope mount and flip up scope caps. Im very pleased with this scope for the price. I spent around $200 for the scope, mount, and caps. The Diamondback alone was $350. The clarity is great. Build is of typical Bushnell quality, I love the throw lever. If you are on the fence, just buy it. You won't be disappointed. There is a great video on YT that shows how to sight in and use the extra turrets. Dont forget, Bushnell has an ironclad warranty. I could ramble on and on about this scope. On the fence? GET IT! I'm surprised that this is slept on as much as it seems to be. I think I paid about $130-135 for the 1-4x non-illuminated simple crosshair version, tried and true. It pairs nicely with an Aero Precision Ultralight mount. It is certainly not the most modern or user friendly reticle, but the upside is no batteries or tritium to worry about, ever. It's perfectly usable at LPVO appropriate distances. The glass, while unfair to compare side by side with e.g. my Trijicon glass, is also perfectly clear and usable at LPVO distances. The 1x is ALMOST but not quite a perfect 1x, but that is par for the course, and I don't find it to be an issue at all on my sample of 1. People like to say "buy once, cry once", but you can absolutely start with this, upgrade when you want/can afford to, and then you either have a nice backup, or an optic to put on something else. It's also extremely good to know that such an option for inexpensive optics that aren't made in China exists. Mine is made in Korea. Buy with confidence! ... show more

Quality optic for the price. Arrived in 2 days. Packaged well. I installed the scope on my AR15 5.56 mounted it with a Monstrum tactical quick release mount. Easy to install. I zeroed it with about 5 shots! Maintained a group about the size of a CD disc at 100 yards! Ok glass. Good eye relief, good for close to medium range. Perfect for home defense or target shooting out to 300 yards. I love the throw lever it comes with a long and short lever and really makes target acquisition quick and easy. Well made and sturdy. I would pay the extra for the illumination version if I were to purchase this scope again but overall this scope is perfect for what I need it for. GOOD BUY overall! ... show more

Solid construction. I have an AR Pistol 10.5” barrel. I thought it’d be perfect for 10yds-150yds. I haven’t had the chance to shoot it yet to see if it holds it’s zero. But I did use a bore laser and it was easy to dial in. I’m in IN and it’s cold. I’m curious to see how it does in the cold. I’ll shoot and report back. But, otherwise, it fits an AR Pistol 10.5” barrel well. The zoom-lever works great. Very smooth. SUPER clear glass. Does not illuminate, but I dig the crosshairs. Perfect thickness and millilidot design. In my opinion, looks great too. It is a 30mm tube, not 1”. For the price and a 30 year warranty from Bushnell. Kind of a no brainer. GET IT! You won’t be sorry. The ONLY negative report would be, compared to a red-dot, it’s heavy. But worth the weight. It makes the gun so much more capable. It also comes with tools, cloth and lens caps. I’ll shoot 90-150 5.56 rounds and get back to you if it goes bad. I really like this scope so let’s hope it goes well! ... show more

I thought when I bought this it was gonna be another you get what you pay for kinda thing. I WAS WRONG the quality and clarity of this scope is better than good it’s great! I was worried that a scope made for a 223 would break because I put it on my 350 lengend. Not at all it zeroed easily holds its zero after being bumped hit and drug out the woods hitting trees for 2 full weeks of everyday hunts. The clarity is perfect the parallax is non existing and the eye relief has from near to far away it never blurs or blacks out. And for a bonus it has never fogged up in the cold weather in northwest Indiana great buy!!!’ ... show more

Can you find better? Yes. Can you find better for the money? I'm not sure. I put it in a Burris PEPR mount and did a rifle class with it. Of course we were shooting from about 21 feet away, but it is sighted in for 200. I have yet to test longer range with it. However, the point of a 1-4/6/8x is to be able to acquire targets quickly and accurately, up close out to about 200 yards max with this one. It was easy to get on target and sight in. Very satisfied with the sight picture and ease of use. Time will tell if it holds up, but i don't know why it wouldn't. Its mounted on my Ruger AR556MPR, which makes this rifle extremely capable. ... show more
