Once you measure the bookshelf then decide if it a good fit for you, see note below. This was a replacement for one that had be in place for about 10 years and was a bit of an upgrade. This is not a focal piece by any means but does the job just fine. I like the "lip" around the whole thing that gives a bit of dimension. I also like that at the middle (fixed) and bottom shelf there is an optional circle cut out if you want to place cords through. I had to do cutouts previously, so this was appreciated. There are reviews that seemed surprised at the size. The dimensions are included so I did something of a mock-up against a current bookshelf and was happy with the sizing. Why so many people buy things without fully measuring is a mystery for the ages. I know seeing is believing, but really it is not much effort to grab a tape measure from the kitchen drawer and reel it out...really it will help. If you still don't want to grab a tape measure, here is some more context...this will not go to your ceiling, and unless you are of shorter stature you might be taller than this bookshelf. I am about 5" 7" and this comes to my eyebrows, I can stand on tip toes and see the top, hope that helps :) Assembly was easy enough, it has the typical flimsy laminated cardboard back that uses a ton of small nails. And yes, the plastic feet are kind of awful, having matching feet would definitely be an improvement. Overall happy with the color, size and sturdiness of this bookshelf. ... show more

I needed a bookcase to fit a 30" x 14" deep wall space, and wanted a medium wood tone. This works perfectly! It took me about 2 hours to assemble, but the instructions were easy to follow and no power tools were required. It's nice that there are outlet/cable cutouts in two areas on the back if power is needed. All in all, this looks very nice and seems quite sturdy. The only reason I didn't give it a 5-star recommendation is because the feet are rather ugly and plasticky-looking, as opposed to the body of the bookcase. It would be nicer if they looked the same. I considered not using them, but like having the couple of inches of extra space underneath to fit a couple of oversized books. Would purchase this or other items from this company again! ... show more

I don't usually leave reviews but I was so happy with Bush Furniture's customer service and the bookcase looks great so I wanted to give their product a shout out. I actually received this bookcase with both side pieces cracked right across the middle. I suspect at no fault of Bush Furniture or Amazon, but most likely UPS, as I imagine this is a common problem with bulkier packages. Anyway, I was expecting to have to go through the trouble of shipping an 80lb box back to Amazon, but Bush Furniture had a flyer inside that asked to give their customer service a chance first if there were any problems. I figured why not, and I'm glad I did, as they shipped out both side panels promptly at no charge. You cannot take this kind of support for granted, even though many do, and I'm very happy they were willing to help out. Once I received the replacement side panels and assembled the bookcase I was very happy with how it looked. It's very easy to put together, and once it's complete it's very sturdy. For this price range, if you're considering this bookcase, I highly recommend it. ... show more

Got this as part of a larger order to replace my L desk and bookshelf, both from Bush, that I've owned for (where's my calculator?) 16.5 years. Old set showed wear and tear, but was otherwise functional; replacing for aesthetics. 2 hours for assembly and clean-up (nails for back take a long time! tip: use pre-punched holes on the back of the cover to guide you; there will be holes on the back of the stationary shelf and perimeter of the bookcase, you can safely ignore those). No need for two people, you can lift/turn over with one person. You do need two working hands though. Legs are hard plastic, so if you have hard floors, I suggest a set of sticky/felt pads. There is a spot in the middle of each leg that's not smooth, so you might have a nice set of extra lines in your wood plank/vinyl floors if you slide the bookcase without pads. I have pads and it glides over tile without any issues. There *are* two or three tiny imperfections on the surface - could be a glue smudge or a light scratch. This is not a result of damage during shipping (this is packed very securely), but rather before or during boxing. On storm gray it looks like a slightly lighter shade of gray spanning 1/2" or so that breaks the pattern otherwise; if you don't bother looking for it, you won't see it. ... show more
