Can't believe I found nice looking bookcases for under $300, and seriously can't believe I got 2 of them! This set is really nice looking! The little extra detail at the top keeps it from looking like a dorm room special. Each shelf holds a lot of weight so I can really load them up with a lot of books. My boyfriend had them assembled in less than an hour (he used a drill which sped it up) and there were no complaints on how they went together. Shipping was faster than anticipated. No issue building these. The instructions are clear and the actual assembly wasn't bad. They feel nice and sturdy empty and loaded, and the adjustable shelves don't wobble a whole lot which feels nice - there's a half-round notch for the pegs to hold up the shelf, rather than those little half-peg-half-flat-shelf things you see on some DIY furniture and it feels like it makes a world of difference. Only complaint is that these are in the "lay it on it's front and hammer 35 finishing nails into the backboard to hold on the backing" category of bookcase, which is both annoying to actually line up and do and always ends up pushing off the back after a few years off books being pulled and replaced. He has patience problems, so if he could put both together in one day, I believe that it was easy. The bookshelves are sturdy and a beautiful color. I won't go crazy since it's a bookshelf but checks all the boxes of sturdy ( I store a spare monitor on top without any wobbles). Only 2 points to be aware of; the middle shelf is not adjustable which limits the remaining shelf heights, but I've noticed this is common in the industry, and second even though I love the styled crown look, it prevents two units from being right next to each other. When next to each other the gap is about the width of an outlet cover plate, and imagine that - this is exactly where my outlet is :) ... show more
