This desk is actually much sturdier than expected for it being made of particle board. It looks a lot more expensive than it actually is as well! I was able to assemble most of it by myself, and I only needed a 2nd person to help me install the desk top portion. Instructions were fairly easy to follow. Be aware that you will need a Philips head screw driver to assemble this, and it does not come with that tool. The desk is sturdy and solid, as are the shelves inside the little storage cupboard. The media could not be loaded. My overall opinion on this purchase is for the money it’s a decent desk. I’ve had the desk for around 2-3 months now. Assembly was a little time consuming but easy enough. I did not require help with assembly until closer to the end, when you attach the arms to the desk counter so expect to ask someone to help you at least once. Took me around 3/4 hours to assemble. Quality: when I was assembling this desk I came across a couple pieces with cracks, the placement of the cracks didn’t seem detrimental to the desk holding up so I decided to put the desk together with those cracks instead of waiting for the manufacture to send new parts and delay assembly. In my pictures you can see the worst cracked piece. Another thing I wanted to note is the stickers used to number the pieces WILL peel the finish off! I peeled one of the stickers off right before attaching it to another piece and it pulled the finish off as you can see in the photo above. My advice would be to keep all stickers on unless they are visible and when removing be very careful! Another thing you need to be aware of is this is entirely particle board, the ENTIRE thing! Other things I did not like: the desk counter is not one unit, I was very unhappy with this but by time I realized it the desk was 90% assembled so I decided to just give it a try. You use 4 brackets to attach the 3 pieces that make the top of the desk. It’s a bit odd and makes me concerned about the longevity of this desk. Also, the drawer isn’t fully functional, as you would think. There is a bar that is screwed into the middle of the desk counter. It is located under the counter and inside of the the drawer area. I bought organizers for the inside of my drawer but am only able to utilize them in the front half of the drawer or they hit the bar when you shut the drawer. So just be aware that the draw space is limited. FYI: the back of the cabinet is closed off by a piece of cardboard (printer with the wood finish) and nailed to the back. If you want to use this desk where the back of it is showing It will be obvious that this is not top notch quality. Also this cardboard backing has no holes so if you plan to place anything that will need to be plugged into the wall you will need to create a hole on the cardboard. The back of the desk footing is also very thin, not like the front pieces that look like a normal piece of wood. What can I say, you get what you pay for. This is overall visually appealing from far away, but the quality isn’t quite there. If you buy this be prepared to be careful with moving it/using it because it will fall apart much easier than a wood desk would. ... show more

    • I REALLY WANTED TO LOVE THIS DESK, BUT . . .

Disliked: Assembly was like the Nightmare on Elm Street! There were no written instructions, just pictures. No measurements as to where to put the drawer sliders, so I ended up having to move them 3 times to get the drawer to shut. It also took me over 2 hours to get the door on the cabinet to close properly. The top is not solid, there are 2 pieces that add on to the sides to complete the top and they do not fit well enough to make them not noticeable. The back of the desk is a cheap piece of thin fiberboard. And....they give you black nails to nail it on a white desk??? If you don't put the back against a wall it does not look good. I have thought about getting some nice shiplap to replace the back of the desk so I can face it outward. It scratches easily and I've already had to touch up a couple places. Customer Service: It's ok but they are very slow to respond, 3-4 days before they responded so if you think you're going to get immediate help, forget it. I had 2 damaged pieces, a broken drawer slide and damage on the inside of the cabinet door because it is basically paper that peels right off if you remove a sticker!! But they did send me replacement parts. All in all it probably took me 9-10 hours to put this thing together. If I knew all of these things I probably would not have purchased it but I had already gotten rid of my other desk so I kept it. I am semi-satisfied with it. It's not top-notch quality like I though it would be for the price. Likes: I love the style of the desk and it looks very pretty when finally assembled, I just can't face it out into the room like I planned on. The size is nice and exactly what I was looking for because I was replacing a very big executive desk that took up too much room. I'm not saying Yes, buy this desk or No, don't buy this desk. Desk was delivered in perfect shape and while it was a lot to assemble/ tedious, it was pretty easy to put together. Desk is the perfect size for two monitors and the keyboard pull out drawer works perfect, is large enough to also fit a mousepad/ mouse next to keyboard. I have no complaints, it’s even more beautiful in person. Just a heads up, it is delivered is an extremely heavy box so rather than breaking our backs carrying the box inside we took the pieces out in our garage and carried them up one by one. Half of the pre drilled holes were non existent. I took the stickers off and the wood print ripped right off with it. In the pictures it shows the back of the desk to have the wood print, but in reality the back of the desk is non wood printed pressboard so unless it’s up against the wall so it’s hidden it’ll look cheap and terrible. Called Amazon and they told me basically too bad. Either take it back apart and try to fit it in the box to return it which is impossible or keep it. ... show more
