OK, I’m going to give the disclaimer now that I literally just finished putting this thing together. But I feel like everyone really needs to know that this thing took me 3 1/2 hours to put together by myself. It’s cute and it seems sturdy and everything is good, but holy crap, 3 1/2 hours! I also had a lot of trouble getting the drawers in at the end and I kind of had to just shove them in with an alarming amount of force to get them to actually click in and now the drawers work just fine. I watched all the videos and I called customer service but we couldn’t figure out what the problem was, but I ended up just needing to shove it super hard. So good luck with that! Also, this thing weighs a ton. As others have stated, it’s not solid wood, it’s MDF (MDF weighs a lot) and this thing has about a gazillion parts. So not solid wood, super heavy and takes forever to put together. But now that it’s put together, it looks pretty good. Now I need a drink. ... show more

I'm a 62 year old woman I was able to put it together by myself! The instructions were clear; however, be careful to pay close attention to which drawer side piece you put where. If the rails extend too far out, you've got them backwards. Make sure not to tighten the screws until you are 100% sure that everything is where it should be. The biggest challenge was getting the drawers in place on the rails once everything is put together, especially the top drawer (probably easier to do with two people, though). It's a beautiful piece of furniture and everyone I know is surprised that it is a file cabinet and not a bedside table or small dresser. It was packed well and arrived unscathed. The color is true to the photos online. All contents are clearly marked. Word to the wise. DO NOT open both drawers all the way at the same time; otherwise the entire cabinet will topple forward. ... show more

I spent multiple hours building out this piece of furniture, only to have identified that the manufacturer had missed drilled the holes for one set of sliders, so the drawers do not close. Now, in order to send the item back to receive a refund, Amazon is requiring that I disassemble the furniture in order to send it back. This is going to require multiple hours to take it apart. Hours that I do not have. Amazon bis taking zero responsibility for what they are selling, and have told me to deal with the manufacturer directly. I hate the fact that I have come to rely on Amazon to purchase almost everything. I will absolutely start changing my spending habits to avoid using amazon in the future. ... show more

I am in love with this file cabinet! I wanted something that was reasonably priced, but that didn't look like office furniture, so I decided on this! The assembly took roughly an hour with 2 people. All the pieces were labelled and the directions were very easy to follow.. All the parts came in perfect condition. Once assembled, the drawers slide very smooth on the tracks, and it looks better in person than on a screen!! This file cabinet is particle board (not solid wood as stated in an answered question.) It has cheep plastic parts and has a completely fake-wood laminate finish. The laminate is already pulling back from the edges of the feet. Not impressed.

This serves my limited purpose of having a bedside table with files in it. There is no lock, the assembly was lengthy and complex (think IKEA furniture), plus it was damaged when it arrived (cheap material damages easily). I read all the reviews and knew what I was getting into, so I’m not dissatisfied. It’s pretty good sized and matches my barn-like bedroom setting. This won’t survive a move, but I’m not going anywhere. Overall, it’s pretty to look at and barely functional...it’s okay. ... show more

This file cabinet is an utter disappointment. First, the wooden dowels were missing, second many holes were misaligned and lastly, the materials were no better than Sauder construction but twice the price. I chose to ignore the “don’t contact the retailer, contact only us” warnings and submit this review. At this price point for such a simple piece of office furniture, I shouldn’t have to deal with such poor quality. I do not recommend this product. ... show more

The finish product is great. It was easy to assemble. The file drawers sailed easily. I would order the file cabinet again. Overall this file cabinet is very sturdy and it looks nice.
