These are great shelves. We initially bought 2, then after putting them together bought another 2 to fill a wall in our library. The four shelves fit perfectly on the wall, and hold a ton of books. They were easy to assemble - about an hour each, maybe a bit less. The shelf furthest to the left has many heavy books, including a set of old children's encyclopedias, college textbooks, and large 'coffee table' books. It's absolutely sturdy and no sagging. The instructions do recommend not placing anything on top of the shelves, but as shown our wifi and cable modem are on top of one, and a UPS/battery backup (about 10lbs) is on top of the other. Again - everything is stable, no leaning or sagging. I am thoroughly impressed with the quality of the materials in these shelves. If I had more books I'd definitely buy more of these shelves. ... show more

    • Arrived cracked - buyer BEWARE!

Despite several reviews stating this bookcase arrived damaged, I took a chance. I ordered 2 of these and hoped for the best. Well, 1 of the 2 was broken along the longest side panel. I knew the second I saw the boxes which one was going to have a problem because the box was "flexed and curved" where 2 people had picked up on the ends. Sure enough, opened it up and both side panels were cracked all the way across and halfway through. **** The sad part about this is there is a picture ON THE BOX FROM THE MANUFACTURER that shows 2 people carrying the box by the ends, so can't really blame the shipper. They are doing just as the manufacturer says by lifting on the ends and flexing this box. **** So, instead of going through the headache of repacking, taping, & shipping this 80 lb. pound box back, here's what I did: These were for my son's room, so once they are up, they won't be moved and they aren't a display piece in my livivng room or anything, so.... I bought some gorilla wood glue and filled the crack and allowed to dry. I did this repeatedly 3 times over a day and put it together the next day. It went together easily, and is holding up fine. I have no worries about the stability of it, though again, it's not holding a ton of weight nor is it holding anything precious or expensive. **** Now, I know I should've returned it and punished the company for their poor packing and shipping, but once you have this thing opened and laid out, it's just a headache that I didn't want to deal with, so their punishment is this review. I WOULD NOT BUY AGAIN, AND I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS BOOKCASE! BUY LOCALLY WHERE YOU CAN SEE THE BOX BEFORE LEAVING THE STORE, AND IF IT HAS A BOW OR CURVE TO THE BOX, GET A DIFFERENT BOX! I bought this during the covid-19 pandemic in 2020 and all stores were closed, so my choices were limited. I hope this review will save someone a headache. ... show more

I've put a lot of furniture together and so when this bookcase arrived, I expected to have a 2+ hour assembly time ahead of me. I was impressed to find that the instructions were very easy to follow and I had the bookcase put together in a little less than an hour. It is a little more involved than some bookcases, but that's because it has a decorative border/cap on the top. I love the manufactured character that is put into this piece of furniture. It looks very classy. Even though assembly was pretty standard, I did run into one problem. The finishing tacks used to attach the backing were a bit weak. I would tap on the nails a couple of times to get it started and then the nail would snap off on the tip. This happened on more than one tack. The problem with this is that since the tip of the tack snapped off in the bookcase, I can't put another one in its place with the pre-stamped guide holes on the backing. Other than that, this seems to be a very sturdy bookcase with a unique look. ... show more

This is a great bookshelf. I was looking for a simplistic bookshelf with some classy accents for my home office and found this beauty. So happy I ordered! It was very easy to put together (it took me about an hour). It is very heavy so you’ll likely need someone to help you move it. The construction of it is great. All of the predrilled holes lined up wonderfully and it is very, very sturdy. This piece has great value for the price. It is a beautiful antiqued white that would go well with many color schemes. Great product. Easy to assemble. Takes about 30-45 minutes if your focused. You will need tools to help assemble. The only odd thing was the nails that are suppose to secure the backing of the bookcase weren’t push nails as anticipated, but small screws that are too small to be actually screwed. We ended up using a hammer which caused some issue getting the screws in on the sides. However it looks fantastic when finished! It matches the picture perfectly! Was also happy to see it came with a wall attachment in case you have kids who tend to pull on things. ... show more

Bought these to match the beat-up coloring of a family antique and together: great look! A little more warm-toned (but not at all tan or birch) which is inviting to see in a room. I would say the shelves are shorter in height than expected and if you have multiple you may have to MAKE SURE you assemble all pieces pretty flush or it can look a little lopsided (if you're patient unlike myself, you can go back and try reworking it). If you are looking for a stocky, old era-vibe bookshelf with the that laminate-finished furniture-to-make process, then this is the bookshelf for you. The screw-nails for the backing were weird but worked out ok. Word of advice: power drill and hammer required for assembly and quite heavy to move once put together. Probably need someone to help you if you can! Purchased when the price was good ( I believe 2 for approx. 160$) but when considering a third case to complete 'a wall' I see the price is much higher (174$+ for 1). For me, it just isn't worth the price for the quality/effort to assemble. It's pretty, but other bookcases can suit your needs just as well. 🙄 ( Ikea at 60$ = can't beat that) ... show more
