I got this item on sale with free shipping, so I only paid about $120. This bookshelf is great quality and looks good in my living room. It doesn't look cheap like some of the other bookshelves I've seen in this price range. The only flaw is that the directions have no writing, so if you're good with pictures and arrows you should be okay, but if you rely on written directions it can be a bit confusing to follow. I purchased two bookcases. The bookcases are flimsy and cheap. I had a professional put them together and even he said they were junk. Each box did not come with enough pegs so I can not use all of the shelves. The back of one (they are like cheap cardboard) split so it is totally unusable. The drill holes were wrong which made it even more of a challenge. The shelves in one were mismatched so he had to figure out a way to make it work. The bookcase leans so bad that we have to prop it up. It is NOT sturdy. We will be buying wall anchors today. The Bush Furniture group is, in my opinion, a joke. No phone number, just email. VERY impersonal. DO NOT waste your money!! You will have a pile of fake wood that leans and comes incomplete. ... show more

For the price this is the best Bookshelf Unit I have even seen. Was easy to put together. Looks heavy duty. After about a year I noticed a couple of shelves look swayed in the middle . I took a closer look and I did have a heavy book in the middle so I just switched things around and put heavy books close to the edges. Yeah there are plenty better out there, but not for my budget. I would like to get more of them and replace other cheaper looking ones I have. I have had this set up since November of 2012 ... show more

    • Great product needs better packaging
This bookcase is great quality - the shelves are very strong and the unit is sturdy. It is a little flimsy on the backboard with a ton of tiny nails, but that was the "hardest" part of the assembly and unless the sun is shining on it just right, you can't tell that it was folded in three sections. The packaging, however, is a different story. The first unit I received had damage on every piece of the assembly except for one. Bush was fantastic when I called them to find out what I needed to do. They ended up replacing the entire assembly. The second unit had 2 pieces of the assembly that were damaged, albeit not as bad as the first go around. By this time, I was tired of waiting to put together my new bookcase, so I just colored in the one or two spots that were damaged with a Sharpie. ... show more

Assembly was a breeze. Very heavy bookcase, opened box and transported parts (sealed box way to heavy for a senior to manage alone). Took an hour to 1:5 to assemble. Placed felt pads on bottom and sliding over hardwood floors a breeze.
