  • This is a great jacket, but it is not for serious cold
Color: Denim 1 Size: Large
I saw a few reviews on here about how people's kids were "just fine" wearing this jacket. It's warm, it would be comfortable waiting for the bus stop. It is NOT warm enough for big mountain stuff. I layered up and luckily temps never got below about 15*, but there were some moments it wasn't enough. In contrast, this is replacing an old old 3:1 fleece lined columbia jacket which was comfortable down to -30* (F) last year. Burton doesn't really say this jacket is made for those extreme colds, they're pretty clear it isn't, but other reviewers here seemed to imply it was. It is definitely not made for anything much less than about 30* for most people. With an under layer, and additional layering I'd be comfortable to around 0F I think. I will say the format is nice, the pockets are great, it has zippers under the armpits for cooling, the powder skirt is excellent, and the length is really comfortable. I'm happy with my purchase, but prepare yourself if it's going to be extreme cold. ... show more

  • Nice Stylish Jacket
Color: Bog Heather New Size: Large
This Burton line had a lot of material/color options and I am very pleased with my Bog Heather choice. While the pictures look good, I was worried that the coloring or material might look cheap, but the jacket looks very nice and can really function to ski in or hit restaurants and bars in, whereas some jackets look like they should just stay on the slopes. As for sizing, I am 6'2", more of a V-shaped body, 40-42" chest, weigh about 175, wear 35-36" shirt sleeves, and wear 34x34 pants/jeans. I often thought Burton jackets ran large in size, but as for this jacket, the large fits absolutely perfectly and is probably the best fitting of any ski jacket I have bought with not being too long/short and not being too baggy with just a shirt or not too tight with a vest or other light jacket/sweater underneath. For my size, the large fits just a little less baggy and a little less long then what is seen on the guy featured in the product pictures. But just a bit. And, of last note on fit, there is no bottom-up or dual zipper feature, meaning you can't zip open the coat from the bottom while the majority of the zipper is up. On a few snowboarding style coats, I really found this feature nice because these coats can run longer and this feature can give you a bit more flexible/airy feel by opening the zipper at bottom a few inches. However, on this coat, for my height and for the fit, it doesn't matter at all, as this feature would be useless since the fit is perfect. As for quality, visually, everything looks great. As for durability, haven't tested it out, but I have had several other Burton products and I think are great. I wouldn't have minded one more inside pocket, but there are plenty of outside pockets, both velcro and zipper. The media pocket is a velcro closure, whereas I wouldn't have minded zipper. But, it seems pretty secure as it also sits under the proximity of the velcro of the main front flap. Also, of note, I could have sworn I read somewhere that the two lower pocket flaps were just decorative atop the side zipped pockets. But, on this jacket model, they are real pockets (velcro closure) in addition to the zipped sides. Overall, I am as happy as can be with my purchase, and if I see a sale, I might grab another jacket in another color. ... show more

  • Nice ski/snowboard jacket
Color: True Black 1 Size: X-Large
I measure 46" across my chest. That has always been XL in all shirts and jackets that I have worn. I should have looked at the Burton sizing chart as I would have fit better into an XXL. I just have a larger chest. The XXL would have been too big in other areas. The jacket seems to be fairly well made but - as there is always a butt :) Quality has gone down substantially. On everything. I have a 12y/o Burton jacket that I have been wearing forever and want to replace it. It's also an XL but it actually fits me. It's also a lot better quality. This new jacket seemed like it would be warm but the zippers and seams of the garment are not as good as the old style jacket. Price is ok but it should be more like $80. Maybe I am getting old and just jaded as I have been riding for 25 years. I am 38 and expect for $140 that the jacket be of better quality. But - like i said this is how it is for everything now-a-days. More focus on quantity and not "Quality" MAKE SURE TO MEASURE YOURSELF. This was way too tight across my upper back and my arms were very tight. If you are a small non-athletic build person this jacket would be perfect for you. Not for the husky or bulky type! ... show more

  • Love this jacket
Color: Bog Heather New Size: X-Large
It was delivered as I was heading to the slopes and unboxed in the parking lot. Really comfortable fit, warm when needed but pit vents are an option for warmer days. All the features I wanted were there.

  • Winner!!!!
Color: True Black New Size: Medium
Purchased for a trip to Breckenridge, Colorado. Kept me dry and warm for my entire trip. One day the temps were higher than usual and I got a little too hot but stripped down some of my layers and was fine. Great price for the jacket.
