This is a great close to medium range scope. Clarity is great. Very minor edge deformation at high magnification setting. This I mounted on a bolt action in 6.5 Grendel 20” barrel rifle. Prefect magnification range for this setup. Large field of view a the 2.5 setting. The overall compact feel on the scope matches well with the rifle I have it on.     • Stubby Main Tube...might not suit you with long action bolt guns
Style: Ballistic E3 Reticle
I bought this scope for a Browning A-Bolt 25-06 Long Action. I was able to mount it to that rifle but the cone on the objective end was against the ring and the eyebox was dead against the other ring. I had no eye relief adjustment left and it just felt a little weird...just not enough main tube left to get the proper eye relief. I am not docking any stars for that; I could have switched out my bases for a full rail but chose not to. But, I loved the scope and put it on my Ruger American Bushmaster 450 with 1" Warne vertical rings...perfect. I boresighted it in my backyard...it was bullseye at 15 yards. I normally boresight 2" low at 15 yards but decided to leave this scope alone until I hit the range. The ballistic E3 reticle is appealing...I probably won't need the crosswind hatches for a 450BM but... This was my first Burris and I liked the form and fit. The glass seemed clear; I can't really rate the glass until it sees a cold December morning but it seems very clear and high quality. In fact, I liked this one so much I bought a Fullfield II for the 25-06. Arrives today. ... show more

    • Good scope but no caps
View is clear even though only multi coated lenses. E3 Illumination is great with "off" detents between each brightness setting. Windage and Elevation adjustments are properly independent and do not interfere with each other. After mounting it only needed a windage adjustment of 16 MOA to align with bore sight LASER. So far I believe it to be a good buy. You will need to order lens covers since they don't even include a bikini cover!. Mfg's website lists objective as 49mm and ocular as 41.5mm but I measured ocular to be 42.5mm and my cap fit is so perfect that I cannot believe anything less than 42.5 will fit. Since caps are a must-have and info is incorrect, I only give it 4 stars. Now that I have the proper caps, I will go for a test run. Will update review if necessary ... show more

    • Poor Burris Quality Control
I was a 20 plus year Burris customer, until buying this one. After a few weeks of problems trying to get it to hold a pattern, I proved the scope was bad by simply taking it off and putting on a different brand. Rifle shot perfectly with the other brand! I sent it back for repair and Burris returned it to me with a test form saying they couldn't find anything wrong with it. Apparently they didn't try mounting it and shooting it. I didn't want my money back I just wanted a replacement but they refused. Hated to hear that because I loved Burris up until this experience. ... show more
