  • Awesome!!!
Size: NR1890DCS Style: NR1890DCS
This tool is great. Lots of power, fast, and sinks the nail perfectly. I run 3 1/4 inch hot dipped galvanized full ring shank nails through 10 x 10 treated post no problem, didn't miss a beat, or jam. Way faster than Dewalt, and so much smoother operating, no hesitation in either mode and the bump mode works great. Super easy thumb dial nail depth adjustment The only bad is the wide rafter hook, but that is a simple easy fix. Is a little heavy but like everything else you will get used to it, besides it's a small price to pay to not have to drag out the hose, compressor, set up, unwind through the wall studs, or up on the roof doing double plate, rafters, etc. This thing has power, I highly recommend it!!! ... show more

  • Kills a dewalt framer
Size: NR1890DCST Style: NR1890DCST
Professional Carpenter of 35 years. Just got it a few weeks ago but only used it lightly so far but results so far are impressive . Had a dewalt wind up flywheel framing nailer that never sunk nails( sad for$ 550 at the time) Anyway this thing is sweet so far, sinks everything perfect, no wind up, just amazing, sure hope it lasts a long time. I guess if there was anything to complain about it would be you really have to work it right to toe nail. ... show more

  • It doesn't use the same battery as original Metabo tools but it works great.
Size: NR1890DCS Style: NR1890DCS
I purchased this because I already have a stock of Metabo cordless tools and therefore it can share the same battery. Boy was I wrong! I read somewhere that the battery was backward compatible. Well, it is not. The battery is completely different. This ruined my quest to get all my cordless tools down to no more than 2 or 3 battery types. The other problem is the nail slot is so small that you can only load one rack of nails at a time. They should have at least made it long enough to hold two. I'm not sure if Metabo will be as good as it use to be now that they are owned by Hitachi or vice versa. Metabo is German and Hitachi is Japanese. Its obvious which one produces the best quality and engineering. But well see if that changes. The next problem is this thing is heavy. It may not seem heavy at first if you're a pretty strong guy but im willing to bet after a while you'll start to notice it too. But now for the "good". Its a Metabo! That use to mean something. I really hope it still does. Well see. So far, it works great. I haven't had any problems. Not even one nail has jammed. Some people complain about the hook being too big. I kinda agree but its better that it's a little too big than to be a little too small. Lol. The battery lasted for the entire time I needed it too which was about 400 strikes. Would I recommend it? Yes I would if you don't mind the weight. Even more if the rest of your tools can use the same battery. I think it's got some kind of chip in it so universal battery adapters won't work. My other cordless tools are mostly Ryobi and I would have got a Ryobi Framing nailer instead but unfortunately they don't make a framing nailer...yet. ... show more

  • Shoots nails
Size: NR1890DCST Style: NR1890DCST
A bit heavy for continued use. Shoots the nails fine. As mentioned by other reviews, the rafter hanger is pretty large and doesn't securely grip a '2 by' because the hanger width is too wide.

  • horrendous customer service
Size: NR1890DCS Style: NR1890DCS
We lost all of our money on this. My husband read the owners manual and our nail gun kept shooting 2 nails. We looked up troubleshooting when your nail gun does this and found nothing. We sent an email to the company and no response. We asked a friend who works in construction and he had the same problem. Since the return window was running out we had to return it and spent $47 to ship it back. Manufacturer said they tested the nail gun and it was fine (guess we just have to trust them on that one). They charged us $176 restocking fee. Stole our money and now we still need to buy another nail gun. So discouraging!!!’ Guess what nail gun it will not be!!! Don’t let yourself be taken!! ... show more

  • Ran flawless!
Size: NR1890DCST Style: NR1890DCST
This thing is amazing!! I'm normally a Dewalt guy,but my brother who helped me build our pergola has built pole barns for years and he showed up with a Metabo and said this is what all the guys used. After watching all the misfires and jams that would happen on the Dewalt reviews, I decided to go with the Metabo...the updated version come with the 4 ah battery,I ran this thing all day and it still had not used that much battery at all and there is no waiting for pressure build up between shots, this thing was immediate and ran flawless!! Get one,you will not regret it! ... show more

  • economical nailer
Size: NR1890DCS Style: NR1890DCS
pros: nice large tool bag and depth control for nails. cons: display screen is very very small and hard to read, lights are not visible in the daytime, very frustrating, also, the battery has no push button to show charge level like quality guns do. I am still deciding whether to send it back or not. ... show more
