I wanted a nice journal to be able to use my jelly roll moonlight pens my girlfriend gifted me. As we journal-holics know, the type of paper you utilize in a journal is just as important as the type of pens you decide to write with. I saw the stats for this journal in addition to how beautiful the cover is and I was immediately flabbergasted. I quickly pressed order and before I knew it, I had received my lovely package. This packaging is beautiful. The gift box was absolutely gorgeous and then the notebook itself is stunning. Pages are thick and smooth. I’m looking forward to journaling in it. The cover of the journal feels smooth and soft, plus my stars and moon design are simple yet very elegant. I love that it came with stickers, a bookmark and pen holder. Honestly, this purchase was so worth the money and I’m already planning on making another purchase in addition to gifting these as well. I just love it so much, I can’t stop raving about it and it’s so beautiful, I don’t want to even use it because I don’t want to ruin anything. If you are on the fence about buying it, just do it. I actually felt happiness while opening this package. It already seemed like a good purchase, but it proved way more than I expected. First, it came in a custom box with a gold embossed copy of the logo on the notebook. The notebook itself is wrapped in a nice protective paper with a holographic seal holding it shut. Not only does this box include the notebook pictured at the site, but it also contains three sheets of stickers (some decorative, some practical and useful) and a black bookmark. Even before you open the notebook, it feels like you bought something that goes the extra mile. The notebook itself is also so much nicer than was expected. The covers are hard -- beyond what you would expect even from a hardcover book. They are safe from water and the logo is nice and subtle. The pages are a very dark black, and the dots on the page are just the right shade to make them seem hardly there but still offer what you need to write straight. Flexing the pages feels just as regular paper does, but the general texture of the paper's surface has a hint of something extra in the paper - but just a hint. There are two bookmark strips built into the book (one black, one gold) and a black stretchy pen holder is built into the book. The only disadvantages, if you can call them that, are that (a) you may want to fold back the gold bookmark fabric strip to stay 100% black (or cut it out), and (b) when you open the book as wide as it opens, you can see white binding material deep between the pages. Again, it is 100% functional, but it makes the book only 99.9% black. This notebook is a delight, and I think this is the first time I ever wrote a review for anything but warning people about bad products. This purchase could not have been better. I actually feel guilty about getting so much happiness from a material object. If it holds up over time, I plan on buying a lot of these.

This is a beautiful book. It is well worth the price and the fact you are supporting a small business. It has a smooth feel to it and if you have lotion on or any creams on your hands it will leave a few fingerprints. They aren’t as noticeable in person as they are in the picture. The book is extremely well made and has plenty of pages to do whatever you want in. It is thicker than I would have thought, it is the perfect size. I haven’t been able to find a dot journal that is of this quality for this price anywhere. Will definitely recommend and will purchase again in the future. Great job to the shop who crafted such a beautiful book. It comes well wrapped and with stickers. The box has the beautiful tree but is also sparkly ( which you can’t really tell in the picture. The box is very hard and sturdy. Ur journal will be safe in it for years to come!

This black paper notebook is stunning! The packaging is elegant, and the notebook itself feels high-end with its sleek design and high-quality paper. The pages are thick and smooth, perfect for gel pens and metallic markers, with no bleeding or ghosting. My only complaint is the dotted grid—it’s much whiter than in Archer & Olive notebooks, making it more noticeable than I’d prefer. A subtler grid would improve the experience. Overall, it’s a fantastic choice for journaling and creative projects. Despite the dot color, the quality and craftsmanship make it well worth it! ⭐ Rating: 4.5/5

I've been journaling for a couple of decades now. Got into it when David Allen's Getting Things Done was popular. So I started with small journals to 'capture' thoughts etc' Then on to larger journals for work related ideas, tracking habits, you name it. The Moleskin is/was my favorite notebook. Eventually though, I started journaling for more creative endeavors, like drawing every day, tracking my dreams etc. And I love books, so something about journals... I've tried just about every one I come across. When I got this one however, wow.... the presentation in the nice, box, wrapped in fancy paper. Excellent quality paper, and the cover is sturdy. I use white pens and I use it for journaling at night on ideas for projects, quotes... something about the black paper and how nice it is to write in it go hand in hand with relaxing and letting your thoughts flow. Plus it helps that it's later at night for me and I'm done with the day, but I've tried that with other notebooks and this one just has a special feel to it. Highly recommend for self, or as a gift for anyone who likes to journal!

These are really lovely. They come in a small box that's sparkly with the tree and planets on them. I probably will use these as a gift box because I'm bad at putting things where they belong. But they're definitely gifting quality. The book itself has a soft matte black cover. The pages are very dark... My picture isn't great because my phone was attempting to aggressively white balance the image but they're the darkest I've seen having looked at a few different books in the same vein. Looking from the side they're almost as dark as the cover. They came well packaged with a bookmark and some stickers for journaling. All in all this could work as a gift in and of itself. I like it a lot.
